  1. Great news, Dale! Looking forward to them.
  2. Guys, from reading several threads over at Matrix foras one can get the impression that there exists only one working db and that this one is even a "patch" for ANW. Just to make it clear: There are two well-working official databases around - HUD 3 (Darren Buckley) and ANW DB (Dale Hillier). While Darren is out for the time being, Dale is working on the ANW DB and will release an updated version with ANW 3.10. Regards, Ralf
  3. +1 But your name has to be added, Brad. Been out of Harpoon scenario creation for some time, but restarted working on several ANW and HCE scens.
  4. Hi Tony, That is excellent news! A decent scen edit with a halfways modern GUI would be great for HCE. When writing my last scens I always became a little depressed using this terrible outdated tool. Best Regards, Ralf

Hi Tony, Just downloaded and installed it. Thx for another update, Tony. Got a crash though. Since this was the first time I ran HCE under Windows 7 - are there any known problems regarding HCE under Win 7? Regards, Ralf No known problems with Win 7 (my daily OS for a couple of months now). How can I replicate the crash? Thanks Ralf. Tony I try to replicate the situation and post again if it occurs once more/regularlay.

  7. You´re an excellent player, Brad. Your tactical abilities match your scen designing ones. Respect, Ralf
  8. Hi Brad, Would be great to have it in HCE, too As to the scen: Hope guys will like it. This is not a beginner´s one. Before you can take the facilities you´ve to fight your way through a massive defense. Regards, Ralf
  9. Hello Pooners, I´ve just finished a scen for ANW 3.10 and the (upcoming) ANW DB V 2.3 called "Assault". It will be part of the 3.10 release (which includes ANW DB 2.3). This scen focuses on the new ANW feature "boarding/takeover". You´ll first have to shoot your way through a massive layered defense, then take a landing zone and build up a beachhead. After that you take the main base, facility after facility. For those, who´ve been waiting for a long time for this feature, like me, this will be great fun! Stay tuned! Regards, Ralf
  10. Hi Brad, You´re welcome. Hope the guys will like it. I think it is really nasty and much sharper than the original. Maybe I´ll rebuild more of those classical scens this way: Making two challenging one-sided scens out of one two-sided. But first I´ll have to finish an ANW one, including takeover of land facilities Regards, Ralf
  11. Hi, I use a freeware tool called "FastStone Capture". You can draw a rectangle around the area you want to snapshot. THe picture is saved as jpg and that is it. Regards, Ralf

Fortress Kevlavik - Nato side A scenario for Harpoon Classic Battleset GIUK (stock) by Ralf Koelbach October, 14th, 2009 This scenario derives from a discussion at Matrix Forum regarding the original version. In those days scenarios were mostly written for two sides playable thus creating the balance problem. Since this old GIUK 6.0 scen has always been one of my favourites I´ve written two modified versions - one focusing on the Soviet side, the other one on the Nato side. This one is designed to be played from Nato side. Will you stop the invasion and hold Kevlavik? Have fun! Ralf

  13. Hi René, Glad that you´re back! Ralf
  14. Hi Brad, Variable starting points. Especially critical in this scen, yes. Yes, he won it using clever tactics. Thanks again for playing it. Ralf
  15. Hi Tony, Glad that Brad and you had a good time. I´ll soon release the Nato version. Regards, Ralf

The Trap v 4.0 A scenario exclusively for Harpoon 3 ANW and the ANW DB 2.2 (posted here at Harpgamer) by Ralf Koelbach September, 2009 The Trap is a classical Cold War scenario. I wrote it long ago for Harpoon 2, but could not make it as large as I liked because of H2´s performance problems. These problems have gone Though the scen is really large, it should run fast enough on modern PC´s. While it was two-sided back then I have rewritten it as US only, thus making the AI controlled side FAR stronger then it was. All bases, all missions have been redone for adding additional punch to your opponent. So here you meet them all: - squadrons of the deadly Soviet long range bombers, loaded with supersonic killer missiles - the classical US carrier group - the typical Cold War carrier air wings - subs, subs, subs... ..combined with the ANW feature ship-to-ship underway replenishment. This is not luxury here, it is neccesary for the survival of your carrier group. High Noon in the Norwegian Sea! Hope you enjoy it! Ralf
