    I've a problem with the new DB, when i import it, even with a fresh new install, in the PE editor REV.2003.16b5, it prompt an error "Execution error 3061, not parameters enough, 1 waited". When in chosse "end" ("FIn" in french version), it seems to freeze (waited 35 minutes). What is it and what can i do to resolve it? Thx

    Tony, et al: I was reading an article regarding “bunker buster bombs” and the specific uses for them. It led me to wondering how the “specific use” concept could be adapted to HCE. Currently most target defense is based on a numeric value, for example; a large airbase may be valued at 9500 defense points or a tank unit at 10. Deliver enough damage points in your attack and the target is destroyed. When attacking a target it doesn’t matter what type of weapon you use as long as that weapon can attack that type of target. For example, when attacking an airfield you can use any anti-surface weapon. The effectiveness of the weapon is based on accuracy and damage …

    Hi Brad or Tony, I have run into a problem which I hope you'll be able to shed some light on .I have added new ships, subs, and planes previously into the Platform Editor with no problem. As of yesterday though I have never added new weapons, its seems that some of my planes are not loaded with the expected weapons in their loadout. However it is only a few planes loadout and not all. I have noticed that some units in the weapons annex had shifted two spots before. That is, I had a Viggen Fighter with an expected ARS-212 Rocket but instead get a Spetsatz Squad. Since the problem is only confined to the weapons annex, I need your assistance to show me if there i…

    Buddha, I haven't seen a comprehensive listing of the locations but you certainly have a workable approach by trying each location. We would love to see a largish graphic with each location noted so that we can post it on the HG website.

    Hi guys, after a "Very educational night" along Rook and HermanH, i'm thinking more and more about "specialized" databases, let's call them "thematics" databases, as they'll be intended to be exhaustive on a determined geographic area (Europe,Pacific,IO), timeline (Cold's war end '89-'91, Lebanon,...) or a fictional background (WWIII, United States of Europe,...). Why several databases rather than a big one? Because databases have their technical limitations and an only one database can't be exhaustive without being far bigger than actual limits allow. So, thematics DBs will alow to be exhaustive on platforms thanks to clear spatio-temporal limits. How can i (pl…

    I have a few platforms I've constructed from scratch based on information I have been able to gather, the most complex one being the USS Midway. Whenever a DB update comes out and I install it, my platforms go away and I need to redo them from scratch. Is there some easier, less time consuming way to do this? Thanx;

But it is possible to rename the field in the PE with out hurting the game... So let us find a smarter name for it!

    If I wanted to have multiple databases, how would I go about doing it. For example; I want a separate database for each of the battlesets, including the new battlesets like the South Atlantic. How would I go about creating said databases and then integrating them into the game without screwing anything up? This would allow me to add installations and additional ship/aircraft/weapon platforms for different time periods. I am concerned that there aren't enough slots left in the current database to do this. Any help would be appreciated. If the topic has already been raised, please send me to the correct posting. I'm messing with various time period databases. I know the Radar Cross Section is a doubtful issue, stealth topic aside, but I see very great differences in RCS in WWII DB and the other DBs. As example, P-3 Orion and B-17 Superfortress are planes of very similar size, P-3 in ordinary DB as a RCS of 159, and in WWII DB we find: B-17 RCS=86, and B-29 RCS=88 (And all these planes are with propellors, I know a rotating propellor has a big RCS), Or in smaller planes, P-51 Mustang RCS=70, and the similar size A-37 Dragonfly RCS=137, and I see these are consistent differences between the DBs. Why these enormous differences ? Also, I don't know if it's a relationated is…

    Hi, there´s a new db out for HCG2004. It is focused on GIUK/Atlantique Ocean/Mediteranean. IOPG is also supported but only very limited and it is not sure that this theater will be supported in the future. It is a regional DB for the period from around 1975-2005. The db is still in a BETA state! So please feel free to report all errors/wishes/hints/etc to the author (me). Get it here: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group...7s%20Scenarios/ Later it might be found on www.harpgamer.com and/or WHQ too! (I hope!) The main difference is the changed philosophy for base structure. All long range weapons (SAM/SSM) will be removed from Habours/Airbases. So a Sc…

    Hi, One Question about the way mines are modelt in the dbs. Most mines have a dp of 2 or less. Therefor it is posible to kill a mine with ASW-Weapons. DC for example. Herman models the mines in the PD for H3 with an Dp of 15000. Why not go the same way in HC? I created a test db in wich i changed the dp for mines to 999 and the dp for MCM-Weapons to 999. So a Player needs a lot of ASW-Weapons to kill a mine. And with my MCMforce Scen there´s a nice scen to test this new minemodell in HCE Any comments? Ideas? Regards René

    Hi Is the distancte to the Horizon a fixed Value in HCE? Or how is it calculated? I found Values around 10 to 20km depending on the high for the observer and a Ship on the Horizon. How does this affect Weapons like SM-1 or SM-2 in surface mode? When i set the Surface range to 0 they get "horizon" as a range in the Platform display...

    Japanese site (in simulated/automatic translator English!) with details of the Kawasaki P-1 (radar, sonobuoy processor, illustrated with 8xASM-1E, etc ... Is the only site where I've finded the approximative wing area), and some notes of humour with the P-1 speculative variants painted in RAF or Japanese 1942 styles: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/ysf_p1_eng.html The text says the HPS-106 is very similar to the modelled APY-10. Other Japanese projects: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/yspack_eng.html Including details about rare Japanese weapons, as modern deep charges: http://www.heinkel.jp/yspack/ysf_weapons_eng.html
