HCDB-250724 (1980-2015 era) View File HCDB-150928 This is the latest release version of the HCDB (replacing the previous release version, HCDB-150621), the official database for Harpoon Commander's Edition. The HCE Battleset scenarios will function with this database installed. The HCDB adheres to a policy of adding platforms but not deleting to retain backwards compatibility with all HCDB scenarios. Unzip this file into your HCE main directory. It will overwrite your existing 'commondb.res' file. Copyright @ 2006-2015, Brad Leyte. Please post your requests for my fictional platforms database to this thread. The DB is very bare at present, and yes, I will be adding some generic installations for the next release.

Checking out the SL-AMRAAM in the DB (Humvee-based AMRAAM SAM) and saw that it has the same range as the AIM-120C7. All the discussions I've seen on this system indicates that it has a much smaller range than the air-launched version and is inferior to Patriot range. DN

File Name: HC_Atlantic_DB File Submitter: divefreak File Submitted: 16 Aug 2007 File Updated: 16 Mar 2008 File Category: Databases Authors: René Haar Game Version: No Information Atlantic_DB is focused on the Atlantique Ocean containing all American and African Countrys with a coastline on the Atlantic+Australia. And it features selected European Countrys including the former USSR and now Russia It is a regional DB for the period from around 1975-2005. It has the same philosophy for base structure, weapon and senor data/modells. No long range weapons (SAM/SSM) will be fitted to Harbours/Airbases. File Name: HC_EURO_DB File Submitter: divefreak File Submitted: 10 Mar 2007 File Category: Databases EURO_DB is no longer focused on GIUK/Atlantique Ocean/Mediteranean only, it is now merged with the Atlantic DB and it covers the whole World except the Westpac Area due to Space Limitations (County Names). It is a worldwide DB for the period from around 1975-2008. The main difference is the changed philosophy for base structure. All long range weapons (SAM/SSM) will be removed from Harbours/Airbases. So a Scen-Writer has to add mobile Units to replace the SAMs with improved design posibilities. Fixed SAM will only provided by AD-Fixed existing in Reality or have e…

I'm trying to figure out how you get the RCS value for ships, aircraft, installations, ect ect. I know there's a formula out there to do it, but for life of me, I can't find it, and I've spent close to 2 hours trying to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I sent Tony a WestPac scenario I designed three years ago and following my own ideas concerning the problem. I think I finally managed to come close to the solution. Yesterday I experienced several crashes - outside the WestPac battleset. It was time to deinstall and reinstall. I installed the original HC 2002 Gold and patches up to 2003.16b8 (Jan 17th, 2005). Now all scenarios, including my WestPac scen Duel run just fine. Thus my whole HC Gold installation probably was corrupt. Next I installed the latest HCDB, but now i get crashes in scenedit again when I try to edit groups/bases - "...probably corrupt rsr - file." My questions: 1. Is that …

Introduction Harpoon Classic now has its first ever, user-editable database. What follows is an outline that will help you understand and utilize the Platform Editor that Jon Reimer so graciously and effectively designed for us. The Platform Editor allows you to manipulate existing data and add new items to the database for the WESTPAC and EC2003 Battlesets. ***CAUTION: Never, NEVER, delete a Major Annex entry in your database. Doing so will almost certainly cause HCGOLD to crash after exporting the database to the Game Engine (GE, henceforth). Major Annex entries are Aircraft, Ships, Submarines, Weapons, Sensors, Mounts, Installations and Text Description…

Somewhere in IRC or a forum or mailing list a number of months ago someone mentioned their own private DB of fanciful platforms. I would be most interested in hearing from you and possibly working together. My fictional DB obviously is not progressing as quickly as I would like but I do still want to offer it and get your platforms out there for public consumption as well. If you are out there, or anyone else is interested, please contact me. Thank you!

Hey guys Ive got a few questions about the HCCE db structure Bundy said you might be able to help me with. 1. The commondb.res and commondb.rsr: Are these the database files that are used for any game, and that I can edit with the pfbuild2002.mdb? 2. How do I create Battlesets? For example suppose I want to allow Alfa boats in the GIUK battleset, can I edit something? or make my own battleset? Where is the data defining what units can appear in which battlesets? I couldnt find it in the commondb. Thanks for any help you can give.

I posted lastnight with some general db questions and asking how to create battlesets for HCCE. I was trying to find out how to place a unit in a battleset if it wasnt in that battleset originally. I notice this morning that my posting lastnight has been deleted. Any help appreciated

I have posted a 'blank' database to HarpGamer DB Share area. The database has a bare minimum of sample platforms, weapons, and such to make the platform editor, scenario editor, and game engine happy to use the file. As it is a blank database, the battleset scenarios that come with HC will not operate when using this database, only scenarios crafted with whatever database you create from this blank slate will operate correctly. Have fun, design away http://www.harpgamer.com/HARP_dbpage.htm

OK, I'm using the newly provided blank DB to make my own fictional database. What I want to know is this...since I plan to use many of the weapons and mounts in the current official DB, is there any possible way to copy those two annexes from the official DB into my fictional DB? (Trust me, I just went through the Installations DB and it was over 1000 bases, not including the double entries (IE red/blue) and SAM locations/Ground unit instances...ughh!) I've been reading the help files, but they may as well be written in a foreign language, as I can make no sense of them what so ever. If it is even possible, I'd need to know what to transfer and how to go abou…

Buddha, I haven't seen a comprehensive listing of the locations but you certainly have a workable approach by trying each location. We would love to see a largish graphic with each location noted so that we can post it on the HG website.

Plane LoadoutsHCCEb13 Weapons of type Gun will not work in loadouts, model as bombs or missiles. [*]Weapons Select the weapon Type before giving entry any other characteristics so that an ID in the proper range is auto-created by the PE. [*]Administrative Archive your pfData file each time you release a new revision of the DB. Don't Import over the top of your master pfData file. It is dangerous if the import fails and can remove logging information you may want later. HarpGamer suggests naming your DB in the format NAME-YYMMDD where NAME is your DB's name of up to 24 characters and YYMMDD is the date of release of this version of the DB.
