Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Replace "Username" with your forum username and 2017.011 with the version of the game in which you see the issue.
Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

I have a a re occurring crash with GE20019.001. I have narrowed it down to the second. Saved game GE 2019.001 SVG 115 crashes when opened. Saved game GE 2019.001 SVG 113 and 114 open correctly. They are 1 second apart. As long as I keep playing the scenario it keeps running. If you need me to go back several more game seconds please let me know. I'm playing on the legacy GIUK battleset running the latest beta files on Windows 7, and using HCDB-150928. I've noticed that the Formation Editor is missing the usual buttons to set sizes and assign units to zones! I've attached a save game, simple scenario, and screenshot in the zip. Pressing F4 on any group in both scenario and save should show the problem. This does not happen on GE 2018.002, BTW. formation editor issue files.zip

GE 2021.009 I tried HCDB and HCDB2, three separate scenarios within westpac battleset, two custom and one battleset scenario (#1), all consistent crash. Air units either in a patrol around a base or as '0' unit in an air group, select in unit window and select "speed" button and game crash every time. (rather disappointing as I got very excited when I saw it )

This is regardless of guidance type, so IR, SARH and Active Homing, etc., all affected. The attacking a/c (well, the attacking side) should have exact fix before allowed to launch, currently the "Should we attempt to locate ..." When using the autotest batch files against 2022.021 and 2022.022 Release builds, I'm getting assertions thrown in Stubs.c line 351, GetPtrSize. Even if I ignore the assertion, the GE exits soon afterward without warning. Instead of an exitcode of 0 (clean termination of the GE), I see an exitcode of -1073741819. I thought this might only be when using the AutoTest batch files where multiple copies of the GE are running simultaneously so I ran just EC2003 MEDC in single-file (one scenario at a time, one copy of GE running at a time) and still see the exitcode of -1073741819 for 50% of the scenarios (8 clean exits, 8 errors) so far. While running scenario, the GE crashed without warning multiple times. Attached are saved game files, GE and Message Log. Tried running without AI ToolBox. If more saved Game files are needed they are available. Same thing happened yesterday, but while trying to recreate the issue it stopped occurring. NotTheFBI has an issue in the WEATPAC Battleset when playing a scenario. In this case he was playing the Philippines Scenario. Attached is a copy of the GE log file and the last 2 saved game files. The GE just crashes without warning. He is using DonT's Tool Box version 2.9.6. Attached is the last 2 Saved Game files and the GE Log. In the GE, when the formation editor button is pressed, the units for that group disappear from the Unit window. The units should remain visible in the Unit window.

In the GE when you change zoom levels with the formation editor open, the units often don't draw in the correct locations, something is amiss with the scaling. They can also be drawn in the wrong location when first entering the Formation Editor

During game play shortly after missiles hitting AD units close to blue base Yelizovo, Russia GE crashed. Blue side destroyed Red base Yelizovo, Russia. Used Turncoat dll to turn base blue. Just after 25 seconds of play the GE crashed. This crash has occurred multiple times at the same time. I have included the last 3 seconds of play game time, GE Log and the latest edition of my db. Upon loading a saved game using the 2023.001 GE scenario crashed. Starting a new game with scenario and db loaded fine. Opened scenario in the SE without any issues.
