GE Formation Editor - Units disappear from Unit window

In the GE, when the formation editor button is pressed, the units for that group disappear from the Unit window.  The units should remain visible in the Unit window.

TonyD verified that it isn't an issue with my db and scenario. He sees it in other scenarios and db.

From looking at the code last night, this appears intentional to hide the units from the Unit map.  That said, it is 'fixed' in 2021.010 in that the units for the formation editor group will remain visible in the Unit window.

All the years I have been playing Harpoon, I have never noticed that happening.

TonyD said he has never noticed it either. We chatted on IRC for a while after the meeting.

I'm pretty sure it's done it for ages, I vaguely remembering wondering if it served a purpose, but it didn't seem to cause an issue (for me) although strange and seemingly of no use.

The only decent excuse I'm coming up with on my own is that with the formation editor active in the Group window, you are setting desired formation positions while the Unit window is showing actual unit positions and that difference could be jarring?

that has been ever annoying

Related from many itinerations ago, but I've never mentioned it because is cumbersome and difficult to reproduce  (And I know TonyE does not use autoformation patrols):

1.- Not programmed patrols in ship formations, usually extra ASW patrols too near and in too small formation sector near the formation nucleus. Also with helicopters in Assault loadouts (as AEW patrols), not present if loadouts are previously changed in the scenario Editor to Ferry or Cargo.

2.- Autopatrols shoot down, both human player but mostly IA, are not repeated, or repeated after a very very very long interval, but obviously in both cases the sides have available helos or airplanes to reproduce instantly the patrols (Clearly at the scenarios begins).
