Hi guys, installing HUCE right now. After all the updates from the Matrix Games server, what should I update? There are various DB's here... a bit confused. I'd like to play the scenarios which come with HUCE. So there is one DB I shall download for an update? BTW: will the Tactics 101 get extended with "Part 4: ASW in HCE ... to come"? 😃 Greetings, Cabal

Hi, I've been using ACCESS-97 data base. However, when I upgraded to Win10, it would not support my ancient version of OFFICE. I have now installed the latest version of OFFICE 365. I don't need ACCESS 365. Microsoft, in their wisdom. only installs in total ( can't take only some components of OFFICE 365). The new version won't use the ACCESS-97 format. The run time software that comes with HCE won't run if a version of ACCESS is already installed. I do use WORD and EXCEL; or I would just uninstall OFFICE 365 Does anyone have any suggestions to get around this conundrum? TIA, Gene Smith

I got an email from matrix Games today which reminded me of the Harpoon series, and it occurred to me it had been ages since I poked at it. I have learned quite a lot about accessibility and related matters since I was last here, and have gained a few abilities I didn't previously possess. hi! i have been looking for an interesting Harpoon scenario set in the black sea region between Russia and Nato and the Porter scenario in the Harpoon Classic section caught my eye. I am though not sure what i need to do to play it. I have the Matrix edition Harpoon Ultimate edition that has HUCE, ANW, 3.6.3 AND 394 and i think i have it all updated to the most recent versions as per the patches on the matrix site. i am assuming i need to use HUCE for the Porter scenario but where do i put the files for it thank you regards

Hey everyone. I just bought Harpoon Ultimate Edition, and I'm loving it so far. A few questions: 1) How do I set waypoints for aircraft that involve orders? For example, move to waypoint 1, turn on radar, move to waypoint 2, etc. 2) I've also noticed that my E-3 AWACS have a huge lag time in responding to orders; I haven't noticed this with other aircraft. It can make for some dicey situations, especially in Keflavik scenarios. 3) How can I set patrol patterns for ASW aircraft? Right now, my ASW aircraft fly to a point, drop a sonobuoy, and then just sit there. How can I get them to drop multiple sonobuoys in a pattern (when they aren't actively orde…

I can't find all the ships in the GIUK tutorial. Any tips? I've tried it a hundred times following the instructions, and retracing steps at creep speed when unable to find ships.

Hi, I used to play Harpoon alot a long time ago. Like to try it again but before I buy it from Matrix I wanted to get a feeling for how well it works today and how stable it is. So I downloaded the demo, and it crashed. * Downloaded HCE Demo 2016.003 * Installed * Start, select GIUK, No mans land, Blue * Press Ctrl-B for order of battle * Click Airfield Aba * Game crashes I can't really think that this is normal, more likely something is wrong with my setup but I have no idea what would cause a crash like that in such a simple and repeatable way. Come January 1, 2018 it may no longer be possible to buy the game. If you've been waiting to buy a copy, I strongly suggest doing so by year end. For more than a year I've been attempting to arrange a situation where Harpoon Classic (HC) could be sold unbundled. That effort hasn't been successful and time is running out. Negotiations are ongoing but out of my hands at this point while the rights holders make their decision. That decision may not be made by year end which would mean no active publisher of the game and hence no way to buy the game. Hi all, I've recently tried to install Harpoon Ultimate and after going through Matrix's recovery system, I was given the following file to download: Harpoon3UltimateANW-Update-v311-Beta.exe. After installation, I'm getting errors about several missing DLLs including Harpoon32.dll. The installation process and autorun programs aren't the same as I thought they were when I had the download originally. I've installed all patches from the Matrix site after v311 and have installed the HC2017.011GESEDBDUBSBB and HC2017.014GESEDU betas from here just in case. Due to the ongoing issues with formation-keeping, we won't be sending an official patch to Matrix Games for distribution before year end. Quality is not where we need it to be for an official release. Please keep reporting issues and helping us improve the game; the uptick in participation of late has been great.

I have been playing HCE for years. Recently tried installing the new .dll file (first time changing those files). When I run HCE I am told I need to update/upgrade my GE. Any guidance?

I have a question about the formation editor which I can't seem to find an answer to. On the basic Matrix version of Harpoon Commander's Edition there are the four zones in the formation editor which I understand how to use. What I don't understand are what the extra two zones are for in the version I've downloaded here at HarpGamer. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys, been playing the boxed Harpoon Ultimate Edition with all the latest updates installed for a while now and looking at playing some of the different scenarios found on here. I always play the Harpoon CE version from the game disk build 2015.027 I'm running Windows 10 and everything at the moment runs fine with no crashes. However, my laptop's DVD doesn't function anymore and I'm just a bit worried that by adding additional files I could make the game unstable and then I wont be able to re-install the game. Hi guys, new to the forum and a returner to Harpoon. I have a question regarding searching for subs, red or blue in the game. Is there a method of allocating a search aircraft to conduct a long range search for a sub where it will automatically move round an area and drop sonar buoys? At the moment I am using the formation editor for relatively close searches, and the plane drops buoys in the area allocated, but when i want to send an aircraft beyond the range of the formation editor the plane just moves to the point and stops. I have been manually setting search patterns and relying on MAD contacts, but it would be good to know if I have missed something and the…
