no matter what i have tried i can't get scenario editor to work with my 64 bit system, i have tried compatiblility modes of all sorts with vista and still no effect, i miss this editor, any great minds have a simple solution?

With the advent of the original ASROC , somewhere around 1968, dual ship attack procedures disappeared from the books. Does anyone still have the procedures including the plastic template and the communications procedures? I was the tactical communicator on the USS Morton (DD 948) in 63' and 64' and Tom Slattery let me run attacks. But, I have forgotten the crucial parameters for determining direction of turn and rotation, along with the flow of attack. Anyone know how to play old fashioned ASW with depth charges, hedge hogs and MK 46s?

Hello all, I'm something like an old noob. I've played with Harpoon (classic only) on and off since 1994. Mostly off, truth be told, but I always think that someday I should get back to Harpoon since it's really challenging and fun. I found a HC97 manual when I moved my computer workstation the other day and this started me Googling. I was thinking that HCE sounds pretty good. But... While playtesting a scenario (attempting to get bombers to attack a CSG) I had some seriously strange stuff happen. A base with 36 Badgers and 36 tankers was tasked with launching 18 tankers and 18 bombers. Several times the bombers got within 200 miles of the CSG but turned around. Added 3 recon aircraft and launched one with two tankers 1 minute after scenario start, then launched 12 bombers and 12 tankers one hour later. Saved it as a different name entirely. Not only did 18 bombers show up (just like the original) but a second flight I didn't order PLUS the recon birds with 12 bombers on their heels! I would like to suggest an “enhancement” for the Range & Bearing Calculator in HCCE. Since the tool already determines range and bearing from one base/unit to another, how much more difficult would it be to allow the “player” to select the starting base/unit and then select a specific point on the map, not necessarily another base/unit. I would find this enhancement useful in strike planning when it comes to planning for aerial refueling points, and determining the need for either Standard or Long Range load outs during planning because the best route to the enemy's HVT is not always a straight line through the teeth of their defense. Been playing for a long time - and frustrated with the speed of the simulation. Plenty of horse power to run HUCE but simulations crawl. Restarting scenari from saved games helps for a little bit then slow to a crawl again. Windows 10 I7 3 gHtz 12gig ram. Any ideaas?

I have notice the coming up on my message log more frequently making my message log basically useless. It seems to happen more often with larger scenarios. I would like to know what might cause this and how it may be disabled. It seems to happen whether or not I have the ignore no ship movement on or off in staff options. I am wondering if it may be a memory problem or running the scenario with a database more current then the one it was written with. I have looked for this in topic search but cannot find anything on it.

Are the ECM jammers cumulative? For example, we can have a Su-27 Flanker with two SPS-170 ECM jammers of +10 DATA each one. If we arm a Flanker with two SPS-170 can we get a total DATA of 10+10=20?

Followed the instructions and think I correctly installed HCDB-150928 (1980-2015 era). Not being especially expert I just looked into the Air Platforms within game. Expected to see the F-35 there as it has been declared operational as of the past summer, not there. Also, the 'whatsnew.rft' states: Extensive re-engineering to track platform changes over the years. For instance, many aircraft carriers will have 5 or more variations over their service lives. im kind of wondering how hce handles asw patrols by aircraft. I send out a p-3 or a s-3 on a patrol, and making sure the loadout is asw, and once they get to the location of the patrol, all they do it seems is fly around in circles, loitering...arent they supposewd to start a line of sonobuoys? or maybe a box MAD search? Or am i not doing something, or doing something wrong? Any help or tips would be great

I'm wondering those who are regularly using HC which Game Engine version you normally use, eg 2022.027 last matrix patch, 2025 comprehensive update or something in between. Also, are you occasionally having aircraft fall from the sky having run out of fuel? I'm trying to find when this started, I'm thinking shortly after 2022.027. We have a bandaid fix for recent versions that seems to be working but in ge 2022.008 I recently seem to have found a new version of the bug that is immune to the bandaid solution.

Wanting to poke around with the 1982 Falklands War, I downloaded the scenario Approach. It has .BLz, RDz and SCz files. What the heck to I do to get this to run? Thanks.

Hello, a stupid question so forgive me please! I see in the scenarios area of the downloads many scenarios that are part of a series but there are only the last ones; for example in the WESTPAC the scenario FIGHT! (PART 5 OF 5) is in the list but the other 4 parts are missing. Do you know where I can find these oldest svcenarios? Thanks in advance! Roberto

Does anyone have a freeware edition of WINZIP available? I d/l'd the trial of the new one thinking it was freeware and it is NOT (blast it all). I'm currently unemployed and can't afford the expense the new one costs on my family's tight budget at this time.
