I just downloaded the new HCE patch. it says The Procedure entry point Decodepointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll Thanx Tanthier

Two questions: 1. In HUCE, I apparently am not using aircraft in an ASW search correctly. For instance, I'll detect a torpedo. From there I'll estimate the box and send out ASW aircraft by using Launch/Patrol. The aircraft whips on out there, goes into Loiter, drops one (1) sonobouy and... Nothing. No other bouys are dropped, no motion, nada. Naturally, this results in no detections -- I have had one aircraft detection -- a MAD detect. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? 2. Is HUCE the version I should be concentrating on? Are the other versions more stable or effective? Thanks in advance for any answers! Regards, San

Hello HarpGamers, Had to join and say thank you to all that play our game. Started on a Mac back in '95. Evolved to Windows' Classic '97. Forced to Windows XP and thought the game gone forever. Tried Harpoon Classic, and III, and AE: crashed every time. Figured she was gone. Thank the internet Gods for the Google Machine. Who knew? Found y'all... Hi everyone I wish I could describe how happY i am to have found the game again with which I wasted most of my teen and tween age years. Great price to pick up some nostaligia for me and big thank you to everyone who helped continue this great game. That said, I have two questions I hope to get some help with: a. Unit / Group screens - is there a way to expand these beyond the set maximum dimensions? I am playing on a 30-somethign ultrawide screen adn would love to utilize that space b. I am new to Naval Warfare games, but am very interested in learning Harpoon. What books or websites would give a complete newbe the knowledge necessary to enjoy the game? Keep in mind that I haven't served in the military and/or had exposure to military tactics. One thing I have going for me is a patient mind. Also, is there a place where I can download (for free) the classic or other versions to get a feel for the game? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a new idea for a new tool. There could be a limit to the number of radar guided missiles an aircraft can manage. The limit could be adjusted to 1, 2, 3 or whatever you like. This is a limit like the targets a ships can manage. When a radar guided missiles activates its terminal guide then the aircraft can launch another missile again. This is the same for laser guidance missiles. IR missiles like Sidewinder or Alamo B/C can be launched the number you want up to the limit.

Is there any new information on a new update patce for HCE? I thought I read somewhere about adding logistics to thegame. Thanks -tanthier

Hi al i'm new to this forum but have been a long time player of this game. glad to see they revived the original design as i didnt care to much for the other versions that came out. playing with the commanders edition and was wondering if there was now a way to invade and take over an enemy base, other than just destroying it. Have noticed that you have combat troops and the like as loadouts for transport helos and planes but what good are they if you cant land them at an enemy base or installation after you have knocked their defenses down

Unable to get some of my wargaming friends into the paper/model Harpoon game about a decade ago, I'm forced to play (for my sadistical pleasure) the computer simulation of this game, which I kind of really enjoy (notice that I don't say totally). However, I'm stuck on quite a few things that get's me kind of annoyed - especially for the EC 2000/2003 battlesets. Newbie still fumbling around here So a good approach is to install HUCE and then the HarpGamer updates to that version of Harpoon, as this is the supported version of HCE? Please tell me the updates are cumulative? Is there some sort of app supporting changing databases around or is that just done down in the files and folders yourself? And is there some sort of database viewer? Any advice much appreciated and will save me hours of digging around to rediscover the secret of the wheel.

Given that these seem to be the 'Current Files' and my HUCE is v2015.027 would I be correct in thinking I need only install HC2015.028 SE to be fully uptodate?

I just purchased HUCE and installed it, with the intention of designing some realistic scenarios based on the current naval market (I work as a naval analyst, for a provate company). I installed HUCE, using the download. Low and behold, when I installed it, there was no Scenario Editor. I clicked that option, but it doesn't open. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I don;t know if this is new, or I just never came across it before. When I attempt to launch an aircraft from a base to attack a sub target, I get a message saying "Sir, we currently have no released weapons to conduct an ASW attack". If I launch the aircraft to patrol and then order it to attack the target as soon as it launches, the attack proceeds as usual. I have a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to attach it. Hi all so i recently got harpoon after reading about the worlds navies and such. Even though i knew it was complex i still bought it as i play asl regularly and so I was wondering about various tactics and such for harpoon . Is there any good links or advice you can give me?
