Not my own but I very much enjoyed it! "Only on Xkcd can you start a topic involving Hitler and people spend the better part of half a dozen pages arguing about the quality of Operating Systems." http://www.xkcd.org/

Watched this the other day it was pretty cool. Tactics were not very detailed but the computer animation and stuff made it entertaining. Had a few hypothetical platforms that will probably never see light of day including a B-1R, B1-B with 32 external amraams and same engines as a F-22 giving it supercruise.

The RAF has two official museums- this is the one I can get to on my Oyster card... Understandably, it focuses on the RAF, but there are some American and German stuff, mostly from the WW1 and WW2 period. Information boards could do with an update in some cases, but there's plenty of aircraft there. Will be pictures uploaded.

I have noted recently that we appear to have some TacOps lovers here on this forum! Which to me is wonderful news! I finally have someone to play against! woo woo! If you would like a PBEM game with me (As currently my lifestyle does not support a full network game) please PM me and I will provide you with my email address in which to send turns. I will warn however that I have never touched the PBEM module of TacOps before, so I would appreciate any setups with offers of a game to be sent to me, I am not confident enough to setup a decent game by myself at this time. So in short, if you want a game just shout me up and we will wage war! Cheers

So why is it that there are treaties against Anti-Satellite Weapons and combat shotguns, which everybody uses in violation of those treaties, yet everyone almost without exception follows the Gevena Conventions to the letter?

Happy Easter everyone! The feast and celebration were great here. The deacon at church had a very sour look all mass, I'll assume he was tired from the Easter Vigil service... On a more secular topic, check out the Peeps contest from this area, the top finishers are being displayed at a very real museum on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus and I hope to make it there to see them. Currently, I'm working on a wargaming project with some from friends of mine. It involves a fictional navy using mostly imported weapon systems. In this case, marrying the Rheinmetall MLG 27 to the multifunction Rafael Typhoon. I figure that the Typhoon is the dominant system while the MLG 27 is the weapon subordinant to the system. Do I have this right? Thanks.

Take one General Atomics Avenger (aka Predator C), a stealthy jet UCAV with internal bay, tailhook, onboard SAR, and a version of the ETOS from the F-35 (this is existing kit, if still developmental). Stretch the wingspan and length to similar that of the S-3 (another 2.5ft or so wingspan, another 10ft length). The length increase will add enough space to stretch the internal bay from ~15ft to 20+ft. A proposed folding wing variant has already been discussed by GA and, in both GA's comment and this thought experiment, the extra wingspan will be used to counter the space required for the folding mechanism for no change in endurance. For the sake of argument, handwav…

A link to some very nicely done line drawings of warships, including some future concept types, but sadly no Iowa BB for Tony. Should be of interest to Pete and Rene, at least. Find them here
