Scenarios created with newer versions of the SE (HCE 2015.008+), such as this one, are not going to run on the old GE.

Yeah, I have been doing some work on the Chinese AAMs lately (most new platforms are Westpac oriented) and it is still underway.

Note that K-266 Orel is not included in the list reported by Jane's. Perhaps the effort has been cancelled or put on the back burner after the fire earlier this spring?

A month ago, the Peoples Republic of China seemed to finalize its grip on the South China Sea, appearing to complete efforts to establish full fledged military installations on several newly created man made islands. Its territorial ambitions and aggressive land reclamation policies in the region have long aggravated and alarmed its neighbours in Southeast Asia, but the events of the past two weeks have been deeply disconcerting. The Chinese have now moved troops and weaponry into these new bases, and declared an air defense identification zone that encompasses almost the entirety of the South China Sea. In an emergency meeting of the Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN), all but Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar have agreed to send military forces into the Spratly archipelago to confront the Chinese. -

Ah, yes, I think you're right. Though I do not think the AI necessarily energizes radar when firing AAMs that do not require radar illumination.

If you can't get them directly from Admiralty Trilogy, then they might be able to point you in the right direction?

I am in favour of the AI "knowing" its victory conditions. Having that capability (if its possible) puts the onus on the scenario writer (where it ought to be).

This is what I was driving at earlier, about giving the AI time to fully assess the target group rather than giving that immediate full broadside salvo to a picket. There must be a balance struck between having that time to reconnoiter and select high value targets and evading player defensive fire.
