I am sorry for asking again, but my last question is whether exists a set of scenarios or campaigns about the Vietnam War, in particular i am interesting in Rolling Thunder campaign and operations LB I&II. Thank you.

Hi guys, Was browsing the platform editor and size of the F-22 Raptor caught my eye. Raptors size in the game is very small 'though in reality it's almost as large as F-15 wich is large in the game. Does this reflect F-22's stealth capabilities? I thought it's done with RCS? My database is HCDB-100308. btw allthought this is my first post, I have learned so much about HCE by reading HarpGamer forums. So thank you everybody -Anssi

File Name: HCDB2-170909 (1980-2025) File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 04 Dec 2016 File Category: Databases HCDB2-170909 This is the latest release version of the HCDB2 database for Harpoon Commander's Edition. This version replaces the previous iteration, HCDB2-170714. The legacy HCE Battleset scenarios will NOT function with this database installed. The HCDB2 will adhere to a policy of adding platforms but not deleting to retain backwards compatibility with all HCDB2 scenarios. There will be a period of time - while the HCDB2 structure is being finalized - where the above policy may be suspended. Unzip this file into your HCE main directory. It will o…

I was hoping that Harpoon Ultimate would have changed JDAMS from missiles to bombs since its not really a missile. Is their a reason for this?

First of all, I'd like to say thanks for the insane amount of work that has been put into this DB! Looking at the installation list I'm seeing every imaginable US military installation! Given that the period 1980 to 1990 has always been the time period I've considered likely for the Cold War to get out of hand, this DB is targeted for me. :) I have noticed that a lot of the aircraft, and possibly other platforms-I haven't checked, lack a value for a field, Runway in the case of a/c. I also notice that these aircraft are not available for assignment within ScenEdit unless you go into Platform Editor and fill in a value for Runway; ie once I put VLarge in the Runwa…

  8. Working on developing my first battleset, which includes modifying the database to include current weapons, aircraft, etc. Pretty confident I am modeling aircraft, ships and subs consistent with the game rules/metrics. Also figured out how to manage mounts and weapons. However, struggling to find a good source for how to assign damage points to weapons, namely missiles. Found historical methods for calculating such as warhead weight x 0.2 = DP. Also found a NPS thesis (circa 2009) "A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF COMMERCIAL OFF-THE SHELF NAVAL SIMULATIONS AND CLASSIC OPERATIONS RESEARCH MODELS" that runs through various parameters and assumptions. Do recognize there are s…

I've been using these in the belly of F35s against ships with devastating results. They seem like cheating. One thing I quickly noticed was that you can launch them at the max range from any altitude, the limited data I could find specified that the range is significantly reduced when lunched from lower altitudes (as expected). Maybe some twweeking of database would be good now this sort of weapon is getting significant range (~60nm), or is it a game engine thing? Its so long since I looked at databases I can't remember if range against launch height can be specified, or is it a 'simulation thing' where the aircraft quickly climbs, releases weapon then descends so is eff…

I set up two new bases in the PE for HCE. EC2003 MED battleset. Both are "RED" Syrian airfields Both are inputted copies of airfields I did in 2002db (where they worked). Longitude and Latitude worked in 2002 version which uses the same map as the HCE version (I assume). Both id #s are in numerical sequence. ID: 53248 and 53249. Prior installation was 53247. The DB was exported as usual. Both DO NOT show up in the Scenario Editor. I've removed and re-entered the bases with the same result. They are logged into the PE but not the SE ?????? Thanks, Steve M

File Name: HCBlankDB File Submitter: TonyE File Submitted: 09 Mar 2007 File Category: Databases A database from which to start your own database. Note: This database is provided as a framework for creating a new database from scratch. There are sample entries as needed for the PE, GE, and SE to function. The sample entries may be changed to suit your needs but they should not be deleted. The EC2003 and WestPac built-in scenarios will not work with this database. A sample scenario is included just to show that the blank DB doesn't crash the game. 2008/11/29 Filled in the list of loadout types for GE 2008.062+ as per http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?…

Cruising through the HCDB-080712 recently, I noticed that the American Mk48 Mod7 torpedo is limited to a max depth of Shallow(!) This seems a little odd, since the Mod6 could go all the way down to VDeep, but I suppose it is vaguely plausible if the torp was meant to be used in the littorals. However, if this is accurate, then I really, really think that the Virginia class SSNs ought to have at least a few torps aboard capable of handling a blue-water ASW engagement ...

Not an important matter, but can the pfbuild2005.mdb be used in a sub folder and import/export the commondb.res file to that sub folder instead of the HUCE root folder. I've tried but can't get it to work, I just would prefer to leave the commondb files alone in the root folder. Don Thomas

OK, I'm using the newly provided blank DB to make my own fictional database. What I want to know is this...since I plan to use many of the weapons and mounts in the current official DB, is there any possible way to copy those two annexes from the official DB into my fictional DB? (Trust me, I just went through the Installations DB and it was over 1000 bases, not including the double entries (IE red/blue) and SAM locations/Ground unit instances...ughh!) I've been reading the help files, but they may as well be written in a foreign language, as I can make no sense of them what so ever. If it is even possible, I'd need to know what to transfer and how to go abou…

I would like to know if there is a way to include pics or line drawings and linking them to the platform in the DB. I find a lot have got a no pic available and I would like to correct as many as I can in the DB. In the process of setting up a scenario using the Middle East battleset and the HCDB-080824, I've noticed that a number of the bases in the smaller gulf nations, for example Shaikh Isa AB in Bahrain, Al Udeid in Qatar, and Al Dhafra in the UAE, are rather seriously misplaced ...
