Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Replace "Username" with your forum username and 2017.011 with the version of the game in which you see the issue.
Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

Land attack (only) missiles are hitting sea platforms. (another TonyD, Eric70, donaldseadog adventure) zip pack includes saved game LAM1.hpq and the scenario file, LAMissile-hcdb-Westpac,from which it has played, the xml file and the GE from a play of the saved game. In the saved game start a flight of three skipjack bombers have attacked the AD AAm with three vollies of KentC Land Attack missiles, and RTB. This plane /loadout combo can't directly attack sea groups( tested seaprately). A user from the Great White North, recently returned to the game is experiencing memory corruption in the original USNI BattleSet, Scenario 5.0. He has experienced this both in 2020.009 and 2020.017. Some saved games are attached. I have tested extensively using AutoTest and have not replicated either issue (game exiting with heap corruption error [USNI5.zip] nor game exiting without any warning [NoErrorCrash.zip]). Right after the USNI5.zip saves a Slava is sunk but does not trigger a crash for me. The user has mentioned doing a lot of air group splitting and joining while playing. I view that as a valuable hint as very few players exercise that function…

Hello, I have been playing and my fighters attack enemies without knowing the exact fix of them. Enemies are in a yellow diamond and the AAMs flights against them. I suppose that it shouldn't be because AAMs are not BOL weapons. I think that we should have an exact fix of the enemy in order to fire against it.

When exiting game and saving only one time during the game, eg at game close, on opening the saved game the UUID and UUID_PREV values of ScenSaveDataIn are unchanged from the previous session. If at least two saves are done during the game then on opening the saved game the UUID value is new and the UUID_PREV value is the UUID value from the previous session, as I expect. I've made screen shots as follows: 1/ A fresh game start opening a scenario. The AIWindow console bottom left shows the ScenLoad passed data for ScenSaveDataIn.UUID and .UUID_PREV The next step is after closing the previous game with a game save then opening the saved game. After capturing bases some of the text on base is jumbled up and unreadable. It looks like the text is on top of each other in the Unit Window. In my game I have turned over4 bases. The text on 2 of them is OK. The other 2 are jumbled up. I am not sure if the GE is causing the issue or Turncoat. I will try a smaller scenario and see if the same thing happens. Tony, SE Screen Magnification is a problem. When I went to 2X mummification I was unable ti scroll right or left. I could go up but not down. The same thing happens at the other magnification settings. There is black (land) where water is supposed to be. I was trying to set AD units that were Barges in a very tight area of water. I couldn't move the screen to the right. Attached is a copy of my latest db, scenario file and several screen sshots. When loading SE gets GetDiskAnnexA Error: !lS_Disk(51627..... Figured out the issue was in the Installations Annex, ID 51627 Japan airbase Komatsu was missing the following: No Side No Lat or Long No Runway Type No Runway Count Upon further investigation after fixing Komatsu, loaded the scenario again and received another Base Get annex error. Looked in the db and found and found various bases missing the same info on them. I was asked to look into a problem from another forum member who was receiving the GetDiskAnnex errors after making a small edit to the db. Prior to editing the db he was unable to edit the bases.

Observed building the latest scenarios. At start I did think the Red side don't launch antiship missiles from its submarines. This afternoon developed this little test scenario (Mediterranean 2003 theatre) to very this, but the results are at least "strange". 1).- Playing Blue, near the Lebanese coast. GE 2025.017 BS Malacca (built in HCDB2 170909) Attached zip with orignal scenario, two saved games (both should get to crash within a few secs, depends on luck of attacking SAM), two GE.LOG for respective saves but both very similiar. Just let either save game run. it is somewhat inconsistent as the time taken before chopper is hit by sam seems to vary but this assertion failed notice comes up and then game crash. StoreCrash1.zip
