October 2, 20205 yr When loading SE gets GetDiskAnnexA Error: !lS_Disk(51627..... Figured out the issue was in the Installations Annex, ID 51627 Japan airbase Komatsu was missing the following: No Side No Lat or Long No Runway Type No Runway Count Upon further investigation after fixing Komatsu, loaded the scenario again and received another Base Get annex error. Looked in the db and found and found various bases missing the same info on them. I was asked to look into a problem from another forum member who was receiving the GetDiskAnnex errors after making a small edit to the db. Prior to editing the db he was unable to edit the bases.
October 4, 20205 yr First suggestion to narrow this down is the try the DB with HC 2009.050, an older build. The database format has changed since the late 2010/early 2011 version of HC_95to10_DB. If it looks correct in HC 2009.050 then there is a good chance there is a problem with the code for loading prior format databases.
October 4, 20205 yr Author Last night I loaded Harpoon Commanders Edition 2008.024 onto a laptop. I opened up the PE and found that the same base information was missing from the HC_95to10_DB. The scenario Surprises in the Pacific By JSF will run. I ran the game for 30 min game time without any problems with GE 2020.009. You can even edit the scenario with the SE with 2020.009. and the game still opened correctly. It seems that all other annexes are as they exist in the official HC db. If you try and change anything in the PE that the GetDiskAnnexA Error: !lS_Disk(51627..... appears. Is this an issue or not. It is not for me to decide. However having gone through with my fictional db I feel that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. I am in the process of fixing the base locations in the PE in case. There are over 1600 bases with the majority of them having missing information in their records in the PE. Most of the bases are in the current PE, however some are not. Thanks to Google I can find them and their Location and runway length and # of runways. The powers to be are going to have to decide what needs to be done!
October 6, 20205 yr I checked the predecessor EuroDB as well and it is missing locations for quite a few installations. Let me know if you need help reaching out the divefreak.
October 6, 20205 yr Author Tony, One of the things I need to know is what are the lengths of runways in HCE. STOL Small Large Very Large One other question is how would you handle airbases that have multiple runways that are different lengths. I only need this information for the bases that are not in the HCE PE. I would also like to have permission from divefreak to update his db. I'm not asking to post it to the forum, but if he would like to look at it and post it I wouldn't have a problem. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric
October 7, 20205 yr Runway lengths https://harpgamer.com/harpforum/topic/12785-airfield-damagerepair-brainstorm/?do=findComment&comment=26565 Multiple runways of different lengths I would set the runway size to the longest length, otherwise you are unfairly eliminating a swath of aircraft that could use the real base.
October 7, 20205 yr Author Thanks, Tony. I was close in my length estimates. I did exactly that with the number of runways!
October 11, 20205 yr Author I have found out the hard way that if you try to import the the HC_95to10_DB after editing some of the bases all the bases that have not been fixed are deleted by the PE. Early this morning I tried to make a backup of what I have done so far and then import back into the PE the PE would crash and lost everything that wasn't completed. I did a test this morning with just the Typo 093 Chinese sup and when I tried to import the db back into the PE all the bases with missing info were gone. I am back to ground 0 and starting over. Tony, do you have any ideas on how to fix the deleted base issue of is in a Microshaft Access issue!
October 12, 20205 yr I believe the approach used in those databases was the save the pfData files and never re-import.
