I found that they no longer throw assertion errors.

    Can someone please tell me why these 2 reports have different sonar stats? After selecting the sub in the unit window, one report is obtained with the "full" button, the other with the "display" button. ************************ P.S. I just found a way to force an immediate post. Normally, you create a post and hit the "post" button. Then the message goes to a moderator, who views it, approves it , and posts it (or not). But in this case, I first previewed the post, and when I hit "post", the message was posted immediately. The same thing works when you edit existing posts. The revised post does not go to the moderator, but is posted immediately.

Anyway, I think you'll have to trust me this time that the fix works.

    HCE - 2008.003 ============== - Chg:0000 GE Use the textured maps created with BattleSet Builder. - Chg:0000 SE Changes to keep up with BB and GE new BattleSets. - Chg:0000 DU Tweaked res_add_headers to allow larger battleset files. - Chg:0000 BB Capture the textured map to res028.bin of the BS.res file. This one is BS Builder improvements, mainly the inclusion of the textured map for use in the game. Some additional structure was laid out as well but that is all behind the scenes (still hoping to do non-square maps and was very close tonight but lat/lon was inaccurate). So test making some battlesets and see what happens.

    With the latest beta release, I'm getting the old Vista "Not Responding" alerts whenever I try to use my mouse at any time compression 5 min or greater. This includes group selection, menu pull down, etc. Keyboard commands do not appear to be affected. I can cycle through units using space bar and back space for instance, but any attempt to select a group with the mouse results in "Not Responding". At time compression 1 min and below the mouse acts as it always has. Buddha

    When I select Settings/Game Options/Water Color/Textured, I see no effect. Light and Dark both work OK, but going to textured from either does nothing. Anyone else see this? Buddha

    As Akula just had to note today damaged subs do not surface in our fine game. The H3 paper rules state on page 44 (rule 7.2.2.2, When a sub is reduced to 25% of its original DP (75% damage for those math whizzes out there), must surface and remain surfaced until it has repaired half of its critical hits and has more than 25% of its damage points left. In a campaign game, the submarine must go hom, avoiding all combat if possible. I propose that with that much damage we force the suckers to the surface and leave them there to rot. Suggestions welcome.

    Warning: This gets into some hardcore calculations In the course of dealing with a refueling issue, I did some measurements I would not normally have done. I obtained some results that may or may not make sense. I sent an F/A-18D tanker cruising out from its base. Every time its "bingo" status dropped by 10%, I checked its distance to base (F6 in the group window) and fuel range remaining (F in the unit window). I expected that the distance traveled plus distance remaining would add up to a constant (1050 nm, the initial basic range of the plane).   16. Bug in SE 2008.44 : Is this a known bug ? When unit window is at x1 zoom, distances are double what they are in group window. Seems to happen at other "ratios" between unit window zoom and group window zoom, eg. certain combinations of zooms seem to trigger that bug in other situations than the 1x unit window. Haven't been able to 100% reproduce a list of such zoom settings, but could give it a try, if it's needed.

    I've had a problem using victory conditions requiring a kill of 25 aircraft of specific sub type (attack). I don't know if this is a bug or just me, any one seen this sort of thing? Any one think of something I might be doing wrong? If I reduce the number to 5 it works or if I change it to 25 aircraft (any type) it works.?? Don Thomas
