    Been putting the BattleSet Builder through the paces in the last few days (as well as my abillity to build a DB) and came up with this: So far the BSB is working well, haven't found anymore bugs. And I just wanted to share and show what you can do... Noticed the textured water in BSB maps, nice touch.

    Hello, was a little busy in RL in the last weeks, but now it looks better. My first installation of HCE2008.021 (in a separate folder) corrupted the current installation of 2007.000 release - nothing worked any longer. One error message was about problems with serail number (think it was error code 300). Then I deinstalled the release version, reinstalled 2008.021 and copied the latest exes in this folder. Two issues so far: 1. no sound ! Remark: It´s on my brandnew, fast Vista PC. 2. Starting the game instantly shoots me in a scen, not the battleset selection window. I´ll go on testing this weekend.     By playing the HDSL 1.0 (WestPac) with 2008.023 I discovered the following behavior: for tanks, 5 DP ; for mobile SAM units (ZU-23), 100 DP. So for a tank it is easier to kill an other tank than a SAM unit. I do not know exactly were to address. On one hand this shall be corrected in the DB. On the other hand this shall also be corrected with low priority in the modeling, so that it is similar than in Steel Panther Game. What are your points of views?

    Now that HCE has been released, I have several under-construction-scenarios on the backburners that are being dusted off and polished up for release. This one, 'Iron Wolf', is for play by BLUE in the EC2003 GIUK Battleset. This one sees the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - all new NATO partners - threatened by Russia and Belarus. Please take it for a spin and let me know if you have problems, issues, thoughts, opinions, whatever. The scenario is NOT ready for release, so please do not distribute it.

Also allowed the displayed information to be longer/complete. - Chg:0000 GE The Red Victory graphic for EC2003+ will now be the same as the pre-EC2003 one (Kirov over a map of Europe+Asia) instead of a US carrier and US flag... - Chg:0000 GE Sized the sound files to be smaller so that they play as they should. So, sounds should now work and play more than once if needed.

    Thread for things that are wrong enough in 2008.021 that they need to get fixed ASAP. Add you own thoughts please, and only things you think have to be done before the patch reaches the masses: Must Fix: Crash - Open HDSK 9.0 select group AGS, go into Formation Editor, click on the Burke Flight II, game crashes, buffer overflow. Found by CV32; Fixed in 2008.023 Questionable if need to fix: Each sound only plays once per session due to big huge sound files. Fixed in 2008.023 EC2000 battlesets always show IOPG mini-map in battleset selection screen.

    Okay, I did not fix any installer problems, only game functionality and mainly in the form of the BS Builder and database importing/exporting.     I just DL'd ansd installed 2008.021, and when I load the game the old opening sequence seems to be gone. By that I mean, I'm not presented with any Battleset or Scenario menus, it just goes straight to a scenario, seemingly at random. To load a specific Battleset/Scenario, read the Orders, etc. it is necessary to allow the random scenario to load and then select File - New from the pulldown menu. At this point I can select a Battleset, Scenario, read the Orders and select game options. Hardly a disaster by any means, but a little inconvemient. Buddha

You'll find the range rings sometimes distort (usually with really large ranges), that's just the way it will be for now. 2008.021 has been passed on to AGSI for submission to Matrix for public testing.

    This will in all likelyhood be the build that goes out as the public beta for the first patch. It is not a debug build so if you see message log messages that should not be there, report it. Show All, auto play, and iterative saving should still work. We're also looking for difficulties with the install process. NOTE: For those editing databases, please be cautious doing so until you know it is working well with this release, changing the db_utils always brings some risk and I made multiple changes to them for this build. I really want to release the patch to Matrix today for public testing (okay, I really want to skip public testing but it is how we get the patch in the hands of the players, sooner). This one is BS Builder improvements, mainly the inclusion of the textured map for use in the game. Some additional structure was laid out as well but that is all behind the scenes (still hoping to do non-square maps and was very close tonight but lat/lon was inaccurate). So test making some battlesets and see what happens.
