    This is where we solicit your opinions on what should be addressed before we ship the next patch to Matrix for the full game. The general approach to the patch is bug fixes from 2008.044 and maybe a few feature additions. In other words, you can say ASW search patterns but your suggestion will be ignored. Now if you say that you'd like guns to adhere to the mount arcs that would be more likely to happen. If you can find em, link to any of the defect/bug/issue reports that you think need fixing before a patch.

    This is just an observation made using HCWW data base in particular ship to ship naval gun combat. Where a ship has say three twin turrets AI will choose say eight rounds to fire at a target will will fire them as four salvos from the first available turret with the inherent time delay defined by the turret's ROF when in most cases (depending upon angles etc) six rounds could have been initially fired, two from each of the three turrets. The first two rounds are likely to do little more than wake up the enemy who might then choose to reply with all guns blazing before ai gets in the second salvo.     Our shot at having a demo version has arrived. Just like ANW has a USNI demo, we will have a similar arrangement. Demo version of the game with... USNI BattleSet rebuilt. The present plan is for Brad to whip up the database and I'll re-craft the scenarios. At Rene's behest I examined his database (turns out the wrong one) and decided it wasn't the way to go for this project though the offer was much appreciated.     2017.012 and newer obviously have serious issues with formation-keeping. I'm finally getting a better picture of what is happening code-wise. In these builds I've tightened up how often various functons check and change paths (path following, station-keeping, close to attack, etc. That exposed the lack of a formal state machine telling units when to turn, when not to turn, etc. Now they just sit and fight each other. Ships trying to close to attack other ships have their intercept course set each second and over-ridden every 60 seconds when they try to follow their plotted path. It goes on and on like that.     Using Tony's new Battle Set Creator (Thanx Tony), I designed a Caribbean BS and wanted to try a scenario involving the USCG and modern day pirates. The problem I ran into is that the Red pirate unit cannot be ordered to attack a Green merchant. If I use a Blue merchant, the attack goes OK, but the merchant also acts as an extension of Blue sensors, and the pirate is immediately reported upon detection. It seems in the real world no report would likely be made until after an actual attack/distress call.     The latest release of the BS Builder is a welcome and long-awaited feature of Harpoon. I've noticed that on my system, I periodically get alerts that the program has "Stopped Working" or the famous "Not responding". Closing the alerts without acknowledging them seems to let the builder do its job OK. I was wondering if this is a widespread problem, or just another in a long list of Vista annoyances. Buddha

  20. I am sure that this has been hashed over many times before, and I thought I had it down pat, but ... I would like to get some information about refueling. 1) I am currently working my way through West Pac 7, Thanh Hoa Bridge, using the demo of HCE. I have never had a problem with refueling before (which isn't saying much, though). But in this scenario, I am having problems. It was my understanding that you bring the tanker group and the group to be refueled close together, loiter both at the same altitude, and then join the groups.
