After a number of years away, I purchased the HUCE version and noted the WestPac scenarios are missing. I think I have to download another database and (maybe) the battleset? Confused as to how and where to install DB and potential battlesets, and if the install will allow just WestPac and no other of the newer HUCE included scenarios. Is it an all or nothing or when done w WestPac can I back off to the HUCE as downloaded list of battlesets? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Dukera

Hi, I just upgraded from HCCE (2009.50) to HUCE ( 2015.27 ) and had a few questions: 1. Is there any way to invoke the GE directly using a desktop icon rather than going through the feature selection box ? Attaching a shortcut directly to the game executable doesn't seem to work. 2. There is some sort of window at the bottom of the screen in HUCE, that gives credits for harpoon and where to get digital art. It is no biggie, but is there some way to delete that window? 3. I now have both HCCE and HUCE on my machine. They seem to co-exist with no problem. I was wondering if there was something in this regard that I am unaware of ? Is it possible to use saved…

Was a devoted player back 20 years ago, have recently purchased the program from Matrix, and starting out with questions. First, I can't seem to get all the windows (formation editor, change speed, etc) to be readable. I get half of the detail and can't slide or expand. Ideas? ( I will accept my own stupidity as a plausible reason.). Second, I am running win 7 64-bit, and have attempted to do the "help file" upgrade with limited success. Would appreciate ideas, or suggestions. Thanks.

I don;t know if this is new, or I just never came across it before. When I attempt to launch an aircraft from a base to attack a sub target, I get a message saying "Sir, we currently have no released weapons to conduct an ASW attack". If I launch the aircraft to patrol and then order it to attack the target as soon as it launches, the attack proceeds as usual. I have a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to attach it. New member, long time Harpooner- when I saw there is now a 32bit scenedit, I was ecstatic. Alas, I cant get it to work! Here's what I did: 1. from autorun, hit 'UPDATE' - no (apparent) issues 2. now have HC build 2015.027, HCDB - 150928 and Wscenedt32.exe 3. played game, no issues (EC2003 Battle for the Atlantic Ocean / Scenario 6.0 Lead Off) 4. closed game - opened scen editor - edited same scenario above. 5. opened HC - opened my (user) scenario 6. orders I had created showed up, when I closed that window the game thought for about 5 sec 7. received error window stating 'Game Engine stopped Working' 8. user cried Any help?! Its been a few years since I last played Harpoon and I've been itching to have a play, however I can't seem to find my install files. I purchased the Harpoon Classic Ultimate Edition from Matrix back when it was released should I be able to download it from somewhere?

Every 10 to 20 seconds when I am within range of enemy radar, I get a notice to turn on my groups radar. No matter how many times I click yes to this request, 20 seconds later I get another notice. Rinse, repeat over and over. This adds up to 100's and 100's of interruptions per game. This applies to every surface group I have. 4 groups, 4 requests every 20 seconds. Is this a bug or do I have a corrupt file somewhere. Makes no difference if go to group and manually turn of radar.+ I have been playing Harpoon since it first came out. Come back to it every few years and have seen this every now and then but never like this. Dennyb22

Ladies & Gentlemen: I'm returning to Harpoon. Purchased Harpoon Ultimate Edition from Matrix. Had DVD shipped because of poor internet connection. Just installed on a new week old Windows 10 machine. Installation went find and the game is running. Checked the version # and it was 2009.050. So I conclude that I must run updates from Matrix website. Do I need to run the 10/10/13 V2009.097 update then run the 1/4/16 V2015.027 update? Or can I run just the 1/4/16 update (does it include the 10/10/13 update)?

I recently downloaded HC2015.028SE to get access to the Scenario Editor in Windows & (64 bit). I would like to stop using the old editor in virtual XP. The editor that I downloaded seems to work fine with a couple of exceptions. 1. When I select ships or planes and use "DISPLAY" in the selection window, a box with a picture and text comes up. However, when I select "Weapons" the resulting box has internal windows which are too narrow. The damage is outside the right edge of the lower box and the ranges of some aircraft are truncated. 2. Followed the instructions and think I correctly installed HCDB-150928 (1980-2015 era). Not being especially expert I just looked into the Air Platforms within game. Expected to see the F-35 there as it has been declared operational as of the past summer, not there. Also, the 'whatsnew.rft' states: Extensive re-engineering to track platform changes over the years. For instance, many aircraft carriers will have 5 or more variations over their service lives. Given that these seem to be the 'Current Files' and my HUCE is v2015.027 would I be correct in thinking I need only install HC2015.028 SE to be fully uptodate?

Newbie still fumbling around here So a good approach is to install HUCE and then the HarpGamer updates to that version of Harpoon, as this is the supported version of HCE? Please tell me the updates are cumulative? Is there some sort of app supporting changing databases around or is that just done down in the files and folders yourself? And is there some sort of database viewer? Any advice much appreciated and will save me hours of digging around to rediscover the secret of the wheel.

I actually have both, does it matter which I run? I HUCE better in some way?
