Was a devoted player back 20 years ago, have recently purchased the program from Matrix, and starting out with questions. First, I can't seem to get all the windows (formation editor, change speed, etc) to be readable. I get half of the detail and can't slide or expand. Ideas? ( I will accept my own stupidity as a plausible reason.). Second, I am running win 7 64-bit, and have attempted to do the "help file" upgrade with limited success. Would appreciate ideas, or suggestions.

I guess the first question I have is what version of HC are you playing. The latest download from Matrix bundled several games together.

 

There is Harpoon 3 ANW and Harpoon Commanders Edition.

 

I mainly play Harpoon Commanders Edition.

 

Please let us know which version you are having the issue with.

Thanks for your reply. Playing the Commanders edition. When I bought it, I couldn't wait, so I did the download and bought the dvd too. Have the dvd in hand now, so I just deleted the download and will load the dvd.. maybe there was an issue with install.

Tony E (HC Programmer) has made some pretty important updates sine the release of HC2009.097.

One of the important in the 2009.097 update is now the Scenario Editor will work on Window's 64-bit machines.

 

Even after all these years HC is still evolving.

 

I haven't come across the issue you had with HC. I Hope reloading HC solves the problem.

The fix you need for your problem is likely this one: Clear Game Options Registry Settings

For the help file give https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=91a try. That said, the winhelp formatted help files are horribly out of date. There are PDF manuals included in the package you bought that are only mildly out of date . Best to ask questions here and we'll help as time permits.
