The answer to your guys question from last night is: Yes you can launch a refuel store from a tanker, You can add a range to the refuel store in the db, However since the db will not allow a speed input (box grayed out) the refuel store just drops. I have found this out the hard way. A couple of times I accidently left the speed of a missile at 0 and couldn't figure out why it launched but then disappeared. The good news is that it didn't blow up my base.

    Here are a few ideas I have, not sure they are possible, but hope you think them worth considering. #5. What about Damaged Aircraft? Upon landing a flight of 4, the staff assistant announces that one a/c requires an engine change, estimated time to complete X hours (AI generates random Y hours +- Z minutes until ready, it does NOT have to match the estimate), then in HUCE another 1 hour to reload weapons. Or the staff assistant could mention other system failures like Radar, ECM, Life Support, Structure, or Fuel System, all with random times to fix that add realism to the game, and frustrations to the players. #8.     I've been a Harpooner since my collage days in the early 90's and was delighted to rediscover the game about a year ago. I see that there are several "might have been" units but there are I few units that "almost were" but didn't get the chance. I would love to see these units in future updates of the game and that they would add to the enjoyment of all harpooners. I'd make them myself but I couldn't get my "unit modifier" to ever work.     First Post 1. Long Range ASW patrols to be improved, say by setting an area and the ASW plane flies around dropping bouys. It is slightly annoying to fly a plane out to a long contact by sosus or something like that, and have the still viable contact drop off, leaving you to either manually search with dropping sonobouys, or have to just route the plane around the area hoping to pick up a MAD contact.     This would be in effect a new type of asset that would be in the ship annex, except it would be a non-moving platform located by the scenario editor. This would be a bunker, another variation of Fixed AD or a fixed missile launcher location (silos?), or other target of interest. The reason why I am suggesting that this would be in the ship annex is that it would need to be found. Once found however, it does not disappear from the display. It could also be attacked by "land attack" flagged munitions. Make those recon assets earn their keep, besides just playing chicken with fighters and SAM's.

    Begins and ends with online play. the scenarios in HCE are interesting, but the bottom line is the AI should never beat you,and the AI should definitley NEVER beat you the second time through a scenario. As a result, the game has a finite amount of playability. Like many other games, one will gain experience, "beat" the game, and then lose interest. Online play changes all that (just ask the folks running the Call of Duty franchise). It seems ironic to me that ancient AOL could host HC in 1991 and 1992, but we cant this going in 2010?? What would it take to make this happen??

    I have only one right now and couldn't find if someone mentioned it. I'll edit the list as I think of things. 1) Load out-dependent ready times. One feature I thought was neat in H3 was the varying ready times dependent on load out. Even something as simple as varying by major category like, Ferry, AA Patrol, ASuW, Precision Strike, etc.

    Bearing only missile attack 1) I see the Hawkeye clearly over top of the carrier group, but I have no contact with any surface vessels with my Bear / Badger / Backfire group which is well out of range of defending air defenses. 2) Along comes my Backfires. I lob a half dozen ASuW missiles down a bearing toward the Hawkeye turning on the radar seeker heads almost immediately. Gives the defenders something they see immediately and cannot ignore. 3) Hawkeye ESM / Radar detects incoming missiles.
