A copy is actually right here in my computer space. :D

I'd highly recommend it.

Got it and finished today. Great book. :)

When did the F-16 get BVR capability?

Red Phoenix readed in paperback some years ago, I suppose in some place at my parents house.

My first day on holidays, I'm lazy this morning, but here some short answers about the F-16 BVR capability:

AIM-7

F-16C Block 25: 1984

F-16C Block 32 (Egypt): 1986

F-16 ADF: 1989

AIM-120, January 1992.

Why do the F-16s in the novel not have AIM-7s then?

USAF F-16s did not have AIM-7 capability until the F-16A/B ADF (Air Defense Fighter) version, and those serving in Korea in the novel were probably earlier models. (No F-16 with early APG-66 can use AIM-7 or AIM-120). My WAG. ;)

May have to dust off this title now that Angle of Attack has gone by the wayside.

OK, thanks.

Just got through the fighter sweep and the strike on the Han River Crossings. That would be fun to game. I now wonder what rule set would be appropriate.

You could use Harpoon 4 for that- Bond talks about creating a scenario from the O'Brien sinking. Fox Two Reheat! also springs to mind.

The "new" trilogy air rules for the air to air. Fox Two Reheat or AirWar: C21 for the air to air or air to ground. Too many aircraft for Air Superiority/Air Strike. Hmmn...
