CVE Long Island is now resting comfortably upon the ocean floor

Wait a minute, I'm looking out my window here, I see terra firma, not the ocean floor. Birds chirping and everything. :D

Thanks for your update.

Well the CVE is truly on the bottom of the ocean.

Sadly I must report that the BB Hiei was lost in an attempted bombardment of Java due to Allied air attacks, such is life. This is a sad way for the mighty empire to lose it's ships but alas that's how this is going to go in the end.

Anyways I'm continuing with operations and looking for more targets to send to the bottom of the ocean but there doesn't seem to be any around at the moment.

The game is currently in the middle of July. I've managed to smash up both Pagan Isle and Ent. At Bonin (Dewayne has 3 divisions here and STILL hasn't taken it over yet) I'm just buying some time. I think Dewayne's invasion forces got too disrupted for him to finish what he started. Probably waiting for naval reinforcements before he brings in more supplies and what not.

Lately we're just positioning our pieces upon the board waiting to see what happens next.

Sincerely

Kelly-san

I know whats gonna happen next. I am gonna win. Just like I just knocked you out of the top 10 posters on this forum I am gonna knock you out of the game. :)

July 21 1942. Bonin Island falls to Allied Forces. Japanese mainland now within range of B17 and B24 bombing attacks. More to come.

I envision B-17 and B-24 bombers with nose art depicting the "Holy Cow" in various states of undress. Wait a minute, maybe I should see a shrink about that ...

While the Holy Cow understands the needs for bombers and attack craft she is a fighter type of cow and would never let her image be placed on a bomber or attack craft. In addition the only fighters that can carry her image would have to be piloted by quadruple aces or better.

I see Dewayne has turned up his massive propaganda industry to the full setting while I was busy laying my plans.

No worries, the Empire is strong even with the loss of the Bonin Island Group (though not exactly lost, I lost the base, my forces are still there, dying heroicly for the empire).

Dewayne has lost control of the air and sea around his two other conquests (Pagan and Ent. Islands). I'm pounding both daily by air and sea. Dewayne also doesn't control the sea around the Bonin Islands as he found out last turn when a group of Destroyers arrived and shot up his transports (causing another 5K worth of troop disablements or killed, not sure which). He's lost about 6-8 ships there in the second invasion.

Having all that material on an island close to your enemy might be great, but only if you can reinforce it and I plan on making sure that doesn't happen because I'm still the king of the Pacific with my Mobile Striking Force (6 CVs) and my island blasting Battleships. Most of Dewayne's BBs are resting on the bottom of the sea :).

I'll post up a update with pics and my thoughts on the war to date later tonight or tomorrow depending how ugly work is tonight.

Holy cow=Holy hambugers=yummy!

Got kectup?

When your SAG was at Bonin Island it was still yours, now that its mine my B-25s are just begging for them to come back for a little loving :) I like the attack on Soerabaja also. Over 10,000 Japanese dead for less than 600 Allied casualties. I will take those battles all day long. The Holy Cow understands that Japanese grass is very tasty and has asked me to conquer a few fields for her so I believe I will do that for her. :)

Setting aside all the banter, Dewayne has done a very impressive job of slowing down the mighty Japanese advance on every front except the South Pacific. It has been very bloody and expensive in terms of ships and men. He's also gone on the offensive in the Central Pacific.

Here's some pics of his great advance:

Followed by a naval bombardment

And the end results:

As long as I can keep up the pressure here I then I have him contained and the Island is nothing more then a POW camp for his men and material.

Now for the next lovely little island hotspot, Pagan Island:

As you can see above I also have Pagan Island contained as well, another POW camp in the sunny Pacific.

Bonin Island is another matter because Iwo Jima wasn't built up enough prior to Dewayne's arrival so I wasn't able to establish air superority right away. Dewayne suffered though, he suffered big time for his invasion. At one point when his second invasion went in and got hammered by the coastal guns he sent a reply calling it the Island that wouldn't fall. I hammered the first invasion with the Mobile Strike Group and I think his supplies hadn't offloaded when I did the sail-by which resulted in his not being able to overcome the little garrision with 3 divisions (including a USMC div!).

I was out of position to maul the second invasion other then a tiny Destroyer squadron coming by and netting 4 merchant ships (Dewayne still believes in letting his invasion forces drive around without escorts.).

The base fell the other day and now Dewayne works on reducing the remaining Japanese in the jungle:

Here's his 'massive airpower' he posted about above in a raid against Iwo Jima:

DewaynesairpoweratBonin.jpg

Pffft!

The area around Rabaul has cooled off, Dewayne is still bombing the local Japanese garrisions at Konveig (sp?) and Gasmata but beyond that we've both decided the area wasn't worth all the expense paid in blood, men, and ships.

Moving to the DEI area now:

BothsidesofforcesatSoerabaja.jpg

As you can see the seige of Soerabaja isn't going to be a tiny little affair. It's a bloodbath but I think I've got the upper hand here now even though Dewayne has invested a massive amount of airpower available to him in the DEI.

Here's another pic of me clearing the skies above Northern Sumtra:

Not much else to report here.

Now onto the Burma region:

Dewayne has brought all his available aircraft up front to help stop the Japanese cold and then drive them back, well he might have accomplished the first part, not so sure about the second one. He does however, have two massive stack of units at Moulmein and Rangoon which represent most if not all the ground units available to him in this region. He must have stripped India to the bone to get this done making his rear areas weak and ripe for invasion.

Now onto China which in reality was a dead end for the Japanese has turned into something else entirely for both sides.

Dewayne has managed to lay seige to Canton and continue that seige from the beginning of the war to the present day along with several other major attacks.

Here's one of them:

BombardmentattackatKungchangChina.jpg

Too much supply on both sides results in offensives in China that didn't happen in real life and shouldn't happen in the game but that's the way it goes.

No matter, I have him contained here as well.

The Kurile Islands are another matter but I'm letting him fly around in the soup up there (bad weather doesn't help the crew's morale whatsoever) for the time being, I'm sure his operational losses will only add to my victory points. I've got more then enough air power should he try a run on the Home Islands and if he gets too froggy, well I've got an ace or two up my sleeve if need-be.

Here's the cost to Dewayne in trying to stop the Japanese advance early on in ships:

Alliedmajorshipssunkpagetwo.jpg

As you can see that's not a pretty sight to behold (well it is for me!) :D

Finally the last little bit of my update, sorry about the pics but I thought you folks might like to see the war up close and personal :o

Here's the score board with some uhmmm exceptions:

overallscore.jpg

The situation isn't dismal but it's not rosey either. Right now I'm working hard to stabilize the situation and have several operations underway to ensure that I do just that while continuing to bloody the Allied noses until they finally surrender or at least sue for peace (wishful thinking with someone like Dewayne but hey, never hurts to try.).

Sincerely
