Hm you are correct, I wonder how easily it would be to add the 'C' variant allowed for the QE class. Ah it seems it can be done, in the scenario editor under UK forces only the F35B is there, presumably as before 2 weeks ago it was the version the Royal Navy was going to get, however the F-35C variant is listed under "International" and can be added to the QE Class. Oh I didnt see that, nice catch! So the QE CVH has: 36 F-35C's 4 seakings 2 merlins 4 lynx type 23 cup x2 type 45 daring x2 albion x1 ocean x1 -12 seaking -6 lynx

There are probably a handful of scenarios out there set during that period, such as Thanh Hoa Bridge, but in large part that conflict (and era) has not yet been exploited. It is something I plan to remedy within the next few months. Thank you very much and great to hear that...I agree that period offers a lot of possibilities, Air war over Vietnam was particularly intense and over 900 US aircraft were lost in combat due to intense AA fire. I look forward to playing with them. The Thanh Hoa scenario is definitely what you want, its very remenicent of Rolling Thunder, and is my fave one!

Choices are: F-35B JSF [fighter] Rafael F4 [fighter/bomber] F14 TomcatA+B+D[fighter/bomber] F/A-18 Superhornet[fighter/bomber] Personally the Rafael looks good, and then could be considered a co-operative effort of France and the UK in 2015, but then I love the Tomcats Also i thought i head bad things about the JSF project, I think we are pulling out of that? can anyone confirm? Anyone know what realistically we could be using? personally using Rafaels as ive heard sounds unrealistic to me, but what choices do we realistically have? Using 'Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery (CATOBAR)' the choice is JSF lightning, Rafael F4 and F/A-18 Superhornet. To me it appears if the JSF is not used it will be the superhornets. Wikipedia says its outfitted with: 36 Fixed wing aircraft - F-35B Lightning II (however I doubt it will be this model of JSF) 4 support aircraft, Im guessing standard UK scout/ AEW planes 2 of each + I'd guess 10 Helicopters of various ASW nature.

Ok, so time to test some modern UK forces post cuts. So we have no Harriers. We have the Tornado's still however, which are fairly formidible. We have, I think 2 Carriers? or none, some are to be scrapped but we have some underway. We will be sharing in some capacity with the French, maybe then the carriers could contain some Rafaels? however I tried this in the Scen ed, they didnt fit on HMS Invincible Our likely/simulated/semi-ficticious/made up enemy shall be......... NORTH KOREA. Fighting MiG 21's.... but due to the fact they are a piece of shit rather old, any ideas on Russian/International fighters they could have? Apparently they have some MiG 29's though id imagine not many[approx 15% in number compared to 21's]. The mainstay is MiG 21's I believe, but a shitload. So the scenario ratios will be: 60% MiG 21's 5% MiG 29's 35% J-5 and J-6's Handful of Q5e's for scary anti ship fear The cheesy clancy style uber-realistic storyline...... don't have one... yet! From what i've seen this seems to have been overblown. Many of these such treatys have been signed in the past, I think the only tangiable cooperation in reality will be within NATO (which we want anyway) and nuclear research.

I made a scenario based on our current carrier fleet. Unfortunately the French had borrowed them so I had to postpone the venture.

Our masterpiece of military hardware, the Astute class submarine, was defeated by the next generation technology called 'The British Coast', this 'coast' is the biggest threat to our sovereignty since the creation of the atom bomb. I hope our government will wisely decided to launch a first strike against this enemy so that the imminent threat to our navy and nation is destroyed and we can live in peace and security once again. HMS Astuteless must be avenged!

Seeing as I consider this the greatest collection of knowledgable people on the subject of naval/naval air information on the internets.... Does anyone know of a good book or study on the Falklands? specifically im interested in the naval/air perspective rather than the land. Also if you know of any other good British military naval/air history studies it would be appreciated!
