HUD 3 v1.6.2 DB ANW 3.10.1.0 After building a scenerio all the a/c at one base that are bombers/attack do not show as ready to launch even when scenerio was built with them ready. The a/c that are ready are tankers and transports. What did I forget? Thanks again.

Hey guys, With ANW DB HUD3 v1.6.2 the DB is a bit daunting if your looking for a specific unit so I asking my seasoned Harpooners if their are any Iranian small boats (i.e. Boghammers or a little larger but smaller than the C-14's) that have ASM capabilities? Thanks again.

I apologize in advance if the following are silly questions, but I'm trying to figure out how to say certain things in a Harpoon orders text file. As I understand it, "Good luck and Godspeed" is the traditional closing salutation for American naval orders. Is it used in other English-speaking countries or is some other phrase used? If so, what are those phrases? (I'm guessing it might be "God save the Queen" in the U.K., but I honestly don't know, and I also don't know what Canada, Australia, and other Commonwealth nations use.) I would also be interested in the phrase used in other countries. I imagine that sometimes it is something that would translate fai…

I'm looking to beef up a scenerio involving Iran and the US. If the US had struck targets within Iran in order to uphold UE/UN sanctions and without an offensive attack by Iran (against Israel or the US) how would countries within the Arab League of Nations look at the attack on a brother country? I'm curious if heavily Arabic/Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE and Bahrain would shun the attack, remain neutral or offer support? How about Turkey which is not within the Arab League but its majority religion is Muslim and has a significant US Air Force base within its borders (as Bahrain and the HQ of COMFIFTHFLT). Since I am not the expert on US/Arab relations…

Could be a bit long winded here so bear with me... Using ANW v3.10.1.0 HUD3 DB v1.6.2 In designing a scenerio I have several sides; US, Iran, three seperate IADS sides (set up to defend Iran), and Turkmenistan. I have wanted to have a scenerio where an Iranian A/C "defects" to another another country i.e. Turkmenistan, and use the defecting A/C as a target. In setting up the postures I have made Iran/Turkmenistan "friendly", US/Turkmenistan "neutral" and Iran/US "hostile". While using the mission editor to have the A/C fly from the Iranian base to the Turkmenistan base the editor states that a ferry mission requires a friendly destination airfield or base. I beli…

Quick question... Is there any way to set a ship in a scenario as being "damaged"--out of fuel, with 50% damage, etc.? I can edit the weapons down to the bullet, pretty much, with the Logistics menu, but I don't see anything to let me edit the amount of fuel a ship has, its damage percentage, etc. Any way to do this, short of creating a custom database with a damaged version of the ship? Thanks. (I suppose the other option for a disabled ship is to make it its own side, unplayable by a human player, and just give it orders that will make it act as if it is disabled--low speed, maybe setting a Nav zone all around it that it cannot penetrate, etc.--but I don't kn…

Does anyone know of a resource for the US Navy (or any other navy, but I'm especially interested in the US navy) that says where ships were deployed, what squadrons they were assigned to, etc. during certain years? I mean, you would think somewhere there should be a year-by-year order of battle, right? Considering how expensive ships are, one would think they would keep track of that sort of thing, and perhaps even write it down somewhere. And especially for something like the 1980s and 1990s, where it hardly matters where the ships were, since it was 20-30 years ago. So it's not like they need to keep it secret. Right? Mind you, while I'm sure it must exist so…

I've been discussing one of my scenarios with JSF and one of the issues that has come up is that the AI for ANW often makes dumb mistakes that make it less challenging to play against. I honestly don't know how "smart" the ANW AI is, but what I'd like to do in this thread is collect whatever tricks designers have come up with for making the AI more dangerous. While there are probably limits to what can be done, I imagine it is possible to give the AI better tactical performance by setting up missions, patrol zones, etc. in certain ways. And I imagine there are ways to take advantage of things like geography, civilian air traffic, etc. that make it harder to be…

Made a scenerio with a ton of SAM's, surface and sub-surface units, airborne and ready aircraft at nearby enemy bases. Just met the objectives with no losses. Can the enemy aircraft, ships and SAM's be made more aggressive? Does the difficulty settings change this?

Okay, I have a few questions about designing bases... Now, if I'm just putting together a base for a scenario, I obviously do not have a full blueprint of the facility to use. So I guesstimate things. I assume that I need one of the generic airfields, a control tower, and an ammo depot appropriate to the nation where the base is located. That lets me fly things in and out and provide them with ammunition. But what else should I add? Obviously, some SAMs, some AA guns, etc., but how many? Obviously, some of these things are on trucks and more can be added during a crisis, but generally speaking, how many SAMs and AA guns should a base have? 3 of each for …

Just a thought... In any scenario, you could divide a particular nation into more than one side; the difference being how different parts responded to other sides. For example, you could have two French ships as "France Task Force 1" and a third ship as "France Task Force 2." France Task Force 1 is set to respond to to a potentially hostile side as Neutral, but the second task force (the one ship) has a loose cannon for a captain...he's set on Hostile, to model him panicking and shooting first even though it is against orders. He gets played by the AI. Since the two French task forces are Friendly to each other, I imagine one shooting at a supposedly neutral …

I'm having quite the time putting into place an IADS system into a scenerio. What I'm not understanding in the advanced manual is placing a central command on one side (friendly) and then putting up another side (neutral) for the SAM batallions and having all of them linked together through data links. Can anyone simply explain how this is done? If a site is labeled as friendly how am I going to be able to attack it? And the real big question is how do I have two sides communicate with eachother through data links that have differnet postures?
