Hi all, I am a returning Harpoon player, but this is my first time out with H3/ANW/HUE. I am working of the 2nd scenario in the classics GUIK set. I am encountering the following puzzling behaviour: 1) I attempt to ready one of the Lynx choppers with ASuW missiles. It reports that it will take 6 hours (is this really how long it takes to swap out a weapons loadout - I don't know I am just asking). Anyway, I tells me it will take 6 hours. BUt it still lists both Lynx choppers with 2 torpedoes loaded. At some point after some hours, if I check on the Lynx again, it still shows them both as having 2 torpedoes loaded. Hi all, So I downloaded the b7 of the HUD 4( The most recent available in the downloads section) and installed it. It doesn't seem to have any scenarios with it, so I then wnet looking for scenarios. I foudn a few that say that they need the HUD 4 official release, and one that said it needs Hud 4 b8. But I don't see either of these available on this site. So I am looking for guidance. Hi all, Can some one explain how the different databases relate to one another, to battlesets and to scenarios? I have read of the Players DB, and I downloaded it. But it warns that it will change some base files. Why would I want to do that? How will it affect using other databases? Will it prevent me from using the HUD? Thanks, Disregard, Backed up everything necessary and installed PDB. This resolved many issues I was having plying the tutorial missions that were installed with the DBs for HUE. Things were often missing or acted odd so that a tutorial mission could not be completed as described in the manual. Regards,

Hi all, Bought a played the original Harpoon back in the day. Haven't played in a long time, but have tried the demos and am planning on purchasing the UE for H3/ANG. But I have a few questions. So I started the H3 demo, glanced a the manual and jumped in, as is my wont. I chose "Watch that first step":. No problem. Need to get those boomers safely on their way. I have 3 Orions and 3 CP-140 Aurora (not too familiar with the later, but we'll sort that out soon enough). and 2 WHECs and one DDG ASW helos. So make a long story shorter I place line of passive sonobouys, set up a pattern for the WHEC and DDG and begin escorting the boomers out with on…

I've seen that ANW has a v3.11 update yet after using the check for update option the program says that I have the most up to date version which I still have 3.10. Been struggling with this for awhile so do relieve my frustration!

H3 ANW v3.10.1.0 HUD3DB v1.6.1 While playing a scenerio I designed a Eurofighter Typhoon is ordered to attack a red ARM MBT Troop position using a MBDA/Storm Shadow/SCALP missile. Just before missile hits red target missile acquires blue base and hits it instead. To play the scenerio launch the Typhoons from the base south of Manila and attack the MBT positions near the embassy building in Manilia. A quick question... Using full realism, once you tell a submarine to go on a mission or plot a course, it submerges and you cannot communicate with it anymore. Is there a mission setting that tells submarines "when you reach point X, please come to periscope depth so you can receive further instructions" or are subs effectively out of your control for the duration of the scenario once you give them a mission? In my own created scenerio, A/C launch box doesn't appear. Instead an Assign A/C to Intercept Target box comes up. What gives??? Possibly no A/C are ready? H3CA V3.10.1.0 DB HUD3 V1.6.1.

Launched F/A18D from carrier and cannot land them on same carrier yet they will land on a land based runway. Any suggestions?

Greetings to all I'm an old Hapooner and I like wargames for a long time, also the Harpoon series, but never in depth. I am a fanatic of naval warfare (one of my first board games was Midway ). I came to this forum after seeing the video series for dummies by ughed and I had tu buy the Ultimate edition with the idea of reviving old battles and I´m sure I took another good time with him. The truth is I am an overhelmed in this moment with a lot of information but I count on your knowledge and my effort to become a connoisseur and lover fo this fantastic wargame. I've been trying to upload a scenerio for the community yet I get an error message stating that the file isn't allowed. Can someone tell me specifically how to put a scenerio up onto the site. Harpoon was one of the first games that I can truly say I was addicted to. I recently went from PC to Mac, and I am pleased to see there is a MAC version of this game. Before I invest in it, I need to know, does it run on OS X Lion?

This happened several times with different scenarios, despite being the sub quite inside the range for the torpedoe when trying to launch one, it appears the message telling the target is out of range, I have attached a screenshot of "Break the Blockade" where the SSN Saphir is just 0,3 nm from a British ship, but no way to accomplish the attack It is the last version of H3 ANW Ult. Whe I played a scenario of the Falkland battleset similar situation was seen as a British SSN was less than 2 nm from an Argentinian DD and the same outcome. Any idea?

Please use this thread to express your thoughts and condolences on the passing of a honoured member of our Harpoon community, Darren Buckley of Melbourne, Australia. I don't have much to say, other than it was quite evident to anyone (even if you did not know him beyond the Interwebz) that Darren had a passion for our game that went well beyond the ordinary. His work on the Harpoon Users Database (HUD) was just one example of that. His contributions here will be missed, for sure.

For some reason, the Data Base Manager tab of my Launcher shows two instances of HUD3 - 1.6.1 - May 4TH 2011. Selecting either one appears to have identical results in the game, but the DB is listed twice for some reason. Is this supposed to happen? If not, is there a way to remove one of the entries without trashing anything. The Launcher's .ini file doesn't seem to have any entries that apply, and I'm not sure where else to look. Im having problems again with weapons not shooting within their range. Target has been identified and an enemy yet the staff message pops up sayinig tatget is out of range. Tony E, not a dire need so don't get yourself fired from work answering my silly question. Harpoon ANW V 3.10 DB is HUD 3. Thanks again, Steve OK. Weapons seemed to fire after pulling back from the target. Inside minimum range perhaps. Also EA 18 Growlers firing HARM 88 weren't given option of which RADAR to shoot on enemy vessel.
