A forum for the discussion of wargames other than Harpoon & Command

  1. Started by broncepulido,

    Probably many of interest: https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games/v2

  2. Picket Duty, Fletcher-class DD facing kamikazes on Okinawa, very detailed boardgame and card simulation of a destroyer defending the US Fleet of aproaching kamikazes. Very probably worth of viewing:

  3. BM-21 Battery – weapon of war, which is enormously widespread and capable of creating some real havoc, at least against lightly armored targets. BM- 21 battery is consisted of eighteen forty-tube 122mm rocket launchers and they could bomb enemy positions with 720 rounds of non-persistent Sarin or Hydrogen Cyanide in a single 20 second salvo, reload and replicate that strike 10 minutes later. BM-21 Battery used in War Cabinet Game is suitable for surprise attack against troop concentrations, strong points and command centers. How would you counter BM-21 Battery?

Finally gave in and picked up this title from Matrix. Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm Warning! This one is addictive. If you are familiar with and enjoyed TacOps, chances are you will enjoy this one.

Anyone else here playing that game? I picked it up during the Christmas sale at Matrix and played Guadalcanal with a friend. When I counter-invaded Guadalcanal, sunk two carriers and captured Port Moresby as Japanese, he surrendered... Anyone up for a PBEM with this? Smaller scenario and Japanese side preferred.

This title was released a few weeks ago and apparently has its lineage in Crisis Korea. I have a basic scenario physically set up, map table restrictions , a solo vassal campaign of Tactical Surprise beginning and a turn or two into a vassal "learning" campaign scenario of Strategic Surprise. Pretty need operational level game. Ground centered. Air in the advanced game can be pretty detailed, Naval is there but obviously not the focus. CBG, SAG's and Amphibs. http://www.gmtgames.com/p-306-next-war-korea.aspx Snippet of around DMZ north of Seoul.

  8. However unlikely...does anyone here own this title and have the interest to take part as a player in a double-blind pbem? NATO Division Commander The monster game of modern warfare, NATO Division Commander is a SPI classic that is probably more studied than played. Described in the rules as a "battalion level simulation of conflict in contemporary Europe", NATO Division Commander gradually introduces players to its complex mechanics through a series of scenarios of increasing difficulty. When mastered, the game is a War College-level education on the conduct of World War III small unit tactics between NATO and Soviet forces. Adding to its uniqueness, NATO Divi…

Greetings All, Just thought I'd drop by and share the exciting news that Clash of Arms Games is now shipping Persian Incursion! Persian Incursion is a standalone game based on the Harpoon 4 rules simulating a hypothetical Israeli air campaign against the Iranian nuclear program. The game uses a card-driven system to simulate the complex political situation surrounding the campaign, with players spending Political, Intelligence, and Military Points to take actions ranging from issuing a U.N. resolution, to blocking the Straits of Hormuz, to bombing the Iranian uranium enrichment facility at Natanz. The Israelis can destroy any target in Iran sooner or later...but th…

Is this worth the $84 (£52) I would need to spend to get it?

I just completed a TacOps game with Coyote over at Armchair General - expect an AAR over the next couple of weeks.
