I used to play Harpoon back when there was only one or two versions of it, so getting back into it I'm confused about all the versions available and how to work them. I've read thru various items in the FAQ, but either I didn't read the correct ones or I'm just getting senile...very possible. Anyway, I run HUCE (don't know if that's actually called something else here; I don't see it mentioned much). I just downloaded the "Iran Israel 2010" scenario, and I'm trying to load it. I unpacked it into a seperate folder, and I can see the folder when I try to run "Load User Scenario", but HUCE doesn't see any scenario files there. From the FAQ I know that the "v" in the "SC…

Greeting all, I just upgraded our home PC to a WIN8, 32-Bit desktop platform. Before I reinstall HUCE, will it run and can I design scenarios on this new platform?

Question. At the moment I am quite happy with HCE running on build 2009.67. However, sooner or later I will move to something more modern than my 2004 Pentiun IV with XP. Given that I gather that the Scenario Editor I use does not work under 32 or 64 bit, when will we get a more modern stable version of the whole package? Thanks Emilio

I saw a series of youtube videos where the uploader was running a simulator on H3 where both sides were computers. He was able to give each side a certain amount of planes and ships and then run the simulation and they would battle it out itself without the player controlling one side. Is there anything similar to this for HCE? I know it kinda defeats the purpose of the game if you don't even play but I think it'd be fun to setup each side and run the simulation and watch the battle unfold. And if there is nothing similar for HCE, does anyone know how he does it on H3? Any help would be great

I had a funny run in with Stealth, first I looked it as a case for the Issue Tracker but after some thought this rather gives a good insight into the game's radar model and perhaps a lesson to share with fellow Ninja Pooners. I got stuck on this for a bit while setting up a new computer so new players might come across it too. When you use TonyE's game launcher (and everyone should, it makes life so easy) you might get an error message saying the serial number can't be validated and contact Matrix Games. I understand that this question may not exactly have to do with Harpoon, but since this forum has been so helpful, I decided to ask. In what context where nuclear torpedoes used? Where they meant to detonate underwater near carrier task forces or meant for harbors and ports?

Been playing for a long time - and frustrated with the speed of the simulation. Plenty of horse power to run HUCE but simulations crawl. Restarting scenari from saved games helps for a little bit then slow to a crawl again. Windows 10 I7 3 gHtz 12gig ram. Any ideaas?

Eric finally got me over the weekend to revisit how the game sizes windows. I had re-worked the logic in 2013 and since then haven't really understood why as players we continued to see windows get cut off, the Formation Editor platform list dialog not showing any buttons for instance (since the window was drawn too narrow so the buttons were invisible). Just happened upon my CD box of Harpoon Ultimate Edition and will be exploring it again. One quick question, will the included Scenarios in the Battle Sets function correctly with the updated HCE Database? Or are the updated HCE Databases only usable with Scenarios created with them? Any advice appreciated.

Since I installed 2021.005 every time I open the game I have to resize all the windows to my own idiosyncratic settings. Its hardly the end of the world but I feel that: a) I'm probably doing, or have done, something wrong or, b) I've failed to spot a 'fix' that's already been posted in the forum. Any help, advice, guidance would be appreciated. On an unrelated matter - just sheer curiosity on my part - why is it that, in the older Battlesets, the standard loadout for ASW Seahawk and Oceanhawk helos was generally "ASW" (i.e. 2 torpedoes) whereas in the later Battlesets the loadout is generally "ASW-LR" (i.e. 1 torpedo)?

I seem to have developed a problem with HUCE. I hadn't played since mid december and when I tried to start a game this evening the launcher kept failing. A problem I've never experienced before. Every time I start to launch the game I get an error window with the message Printer EndDoc Failed. Has anyone seen this before or aware of a solution. The scenario editor also was unresponsive when attempting to launch. Any tips greatly appreciated.
