I tried to play the scenario "Kodak Moment" from the 2003 IPOG set but I saved it and stopped because I don't understand how to fulfill the victory conditions. It says to do "photo recon" of three ground forces. You can see the 3 ground forces on the map like they are bases (they are there before you even put any planes up). But I don't see any way of doing "photo recon". I have 2 search planes, 2 kiowa helos that could never reach, and 2 JSTARS. None of them can target the ground forces to do any type of "photo recon" mission, and just flying the JSTARS directly over the ground locations had no effect. So.. I got sick of navigating to my HCE install, copying & pasting from my database folder into the main install folder to switch between DBs all the time. I decided to set up JSGME (Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler) so all I have to do is run the desktop shortcut and click the DB over/back to switch. I've been trying to get back into playing Harpoon, I have the Commanders Edition that I purchased in 2008 and I have my serial number however I am struggling to identify what I need to download to play, if I go into the Matrix Games account and go to downloads it seems to list some updates rather than the full install which I guess I need to then apply the updates, where can I get the initial installation setup file?

Guys, watching the HUE coming out and looking forward to Christmas, it is a nice time for reflecting over the "game" which excites us so much. Not about H3 ANW, that´s a totally different story, but about Harpoon Classic. While in the last two years I´ve focused on H3 ANW and not written a single HCE scenario (shame on me but I´ll do it better in 2011 - promised), I never lost contact to HCE and to Harpgamer. Looking at the DB associated with the 2009.42 install and I'm finding some little errors. The most noticeable is that a number of SS diesel subs are listed as having nuclear propulsion. Could this be a game thing where these subs display characteristics associated in the game with nuclear or are they true errors? Also, is this the most uptodate 'standard' DB or should I be downloading something newer from the database downloads? UPDATE Putting my DB exploration on hold till I figure this out. Its been a few years since I last played Harpoon and I've been itching to have a play, however I can't seem to find my install files. I purchased the Harpoon Classic Ultimate Edition from Matrix back when it was released should I be able to download it from somewhere?

Perhaps I've tortured users well enough the last 12 years that Instant Action has been enabled by default. Is it time to flip that position and have it disabled by default? That would mean you get to select a BattleSet and scenario every time you fire up the game instead of being taking to a random scenario.

Hi, new HCE player here,trying to learn the sim slowly but surely and i have a question about formation rings. Can their display be turned off in the group window? They obscure the unit icons of themselves and surrounding units. I ask because I've seen them "turned off" in YouTube tutorials. Currently using latest patch (2015.027) with the latest beta (HC2018.002GESEDBDUBSSB and HC2020.003GESE) and latest DB (HCDB2-170909). Thanks

Hi everyone I wish I could describe how happY i am to have found the game again with which I wasted most of my teen and tween age years. Great price to pick up some nostaligia for me and big thank you to everyone who helped continue this great game. That said, I have two questions I hope to get some help with: a. Hi, I'm having an issue with HUCE after a recent re-install. The attack window as well the course, speed, and formation windows are off-centred preventing the selection of important commands (please see the attached file). I've search the forum but couldn't find an instance when this issue was encountered. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David

I can't remember when I got an update: I guess I blightly assumed all was well on the bug front until I encountered one. Anyhow, I figured figured my subscription had been cancelled somehow, but when I tried to re-up, it said my subscription was still active. Can you look into it?
