My family will be in Ohio March 19-22. The main event is visiting the National Museum of the USAF the 20th and 21st. Can I count on you to meet up either of those days (or night of the 19th or morning of 22nd)? If we manage to get any kind of a crowd, I'll see about renting a spot to hang out and get our gaming on. Thanks for considering! https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/ The museum is an amazing place. I've been twice and have zero qualms about going again despite my favorite aircraft being a Navy bird and as such, not present.

It's summer (well almost officially). I'm going a break for a month or so. Hopefully, in that time I can craft the first couple BRICS scenarios and get them ready for posting, along with working in the yard and spending time with the family after work. NNSotD will be back, watch for it in August or September.

Join the fun at the "Harpoon Wargames" group on Facebook (I just whipped it up tonight, pretty basic). http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=37152062266 Facebook is kinda freaky, people coming out of the woodwork and such.

Hi all, As some of you know ive been moving home and have been settled in for a about 2 weeks now! British Telecom have managed to screw up the installation of the communications line to my apartment, so while I should have been able to order my broadband yesterday, that is not going to happen now until BT can sort out the mess they have made. Once ive ordered the broadband it should be another week or two before I get back online.... Sorry to Tony and the beta team for my absence, I will hopefully be back soon, ill update when the broadband is ordered. Cheers

This thread is for all the well, more offbeat military stories. Whether it's a penguin getting a promotion or British troops singing "Show Me the Way to Amarillo" or something entirely different.

So, who watched the 2010 Winter Olympics? I am of course happy with how it turned out for Canada, especially the men's hockey win. Great game! (Very glad it did not end in a shootout ... Miller would probably have been the death of us). Now, just a matter of paying the huge bill that goes along with these events.

Can someone (er... Tony) please provide, in extreme layman's terms how one goes about registering, or re-registering their nickname on newnet? I for the life of me can't seem to crack the code and may need to give up all things harpoon if this cannot be remedied for this aging, knuckle-dragging grunt.

So we have a thread about submarine films. How about films depicting aircraft carrier operations? Some of my favorites are: Wing and a Prayer (1944) Tora Tora Tora (1970) Midway (1976) The Final Countdown (1980)

Thought I'd set up this thread for one reason - episode 3 of the current run is set on a Soviet submarine (I don't know the type ATM) in 1983.

Was on a nice cruise (the leisure vacation kind) coming back to new york from Bermuda on Saturday when I see this pretty thing bouncing around in 50knt winds (luckily swells were pretty low but saw waves go over her bow a few times.) wondering if anybody knows who she might be.

  14. The pandemic has encroached again leaving us as a family of two full-time working adults with a 100% distance learning child and a daycare child whose room at daycare is closed for two weeks of quarantine. Pray that we don't get sick (the daycare protocols are pretty strict so we're not too worried). See you on the other side!

So, I was sorting out my links and found this amusing little video. Feeling that the Eurofighter should have a chance to hit back, I found this. While I'm a fan of both aircraft, the videos are a tad unrealistic. Who watches these things anyway? Any other suitably bombastic videos out there?
