Gentlemen,

Request that you add the following platforms if feasible:

PLA Navy New Type 71 LPD

http://www.sinodefence.com/navy/amphibious/type071.asp

PLA Navy Type 22 FAC/Houbei low observable PGG (according to link, over 40 delivered). Armamament originally uncertain, but now reported below as 8 YJ-83. Based on production rate, these must have key role in PLA maritime strategy. Game really needs this platform.

Need more info.

I've been watching and waiting for more info to become available regarding the Type 022. It seems there might be now.

I'll take a look at adding this one.

Request adding JH-7/7A with anti-shipping loadouts. Originally designed as maritime strike aircraft/YJ-81/82/83K

http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/ground...cifications.asp

The JH-7 already has antiship loadouts.

Already in the DB. See the Y-8DZ.

I'll look at this one as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

A big ship, the new spanish LHD, L-61 Juan Carlos I (No data on electronics or weapons, but I suposse very basic systems), providing too an alternative aerial platform to the carrier Principe de Asturias, launched the past 10/03/08:

http://www.navantia.es/irj/portal/anonymou...FirstLevel=true

And replace the Hobart (Gibbs & Cox) by the Hobart (Navantia), F-100 Alvaro de Bazan-like:

And Navantia is the selected contender for the future australian LHD, Juan Carlos I is very similar:

Could you add a few more unit names to the Gorshkov class.

Thanks. Looking forward to those additions. A few more questions and requests...

SM-6 ERAM- it should be deployed by the time Zumwalt is commissioned.

Maybe. I'll take a look at it.

newer vesions of R-77 (i.e. R-77RVV-AE and R-77M1)- especially if have AIM-120D AMRAAM in DB.

The R-77M1 will appear in the next version of the HCDB.

also, FREMM ASM sonar captas does not appear to be as capable as would be expected. I was under the impression that French ASW was excellent but the captas towed sonar has a range of only 4 and 0 CV. Shouldn't it be similar in effectiveness to modern British and American sonars?

In addition, I understand the sonar 2087 is more advanced and in several situations will replace the sonar 2031. The active component is an upgrade but the passave range and CV is significantly less than the older sonar 2031.

I was lacking H4.1 data on both these sonars when they were created in the HCDB. If anyone has H4.1 data or suggested provisional data, I'd be glad to receive it.

Saw the posts in the other forum! Awesome!

I know this may sound kinda petty, but I was wondering if you could add more load outs to the F-14B/D. Specifically A/G load outs. These aircraft can and have carried JDAMs with up to 4 GBU-31/32/38 being carried. They're also missing the ALQ-165 ASPJ (minor point) and the LANTRIN systems. Also, carried the Paveway III series of LGBs as well.

I ask, because it's not possible to build some OEF and OIF missions that these aircraft used without these load outs. Here's a couple of examples that I've built for personal use. I used the guided munitions in these, but you could easily swap them 1 for 1 with dumb bombs or CBU-78/99/100 cluster munitions.

Typical load outs could be:

1 Lantrin

4 x GBU-31/32 JDAM

2 x AIM-9M

2 x AIM-7M

2 x 295 Gal drop tanks

1 x ALQ-165 ASPJ

1 Lantrin

2 x GBU-31/32 JDAM

2 x AIM-9M

2 x AIM-7M

2 x 295 Gal drop tanks

1 x ALQ-165 ASPJ

1 Lantrin

4 x GBU-38 JDAM

2 x AIM-9M

2 x AIM-7M

1 x ALQ-165 ASPJ

1 Lantrin

4 x LGBs

2 x AIM-9M

Not petty at all, but I will remind everyone that space in the Loadouts annex is extremely limited.

Adding new loadouts for existing aircraft is very tough. I am trying to keep the few remaining loadouts available for new aircraft.

What I will do, though, is examine existing Loadouts to see if there is any room to accommodate at least some of these requests, because they are good ones. (And Tony will of course support them, being the Turkey fan he is. :P )

Well, Brad said it was great news that I finally got HCE, but we'll see if he still thinks that after seeing THIS wish list... :)

First, there is a minor error on the new HCDB. The Italian Garibaldi CVH has some kind of glitch in its entry--it shows up as blank lines in the platform display and when I try to view its weapons, it crashes the scenario editor. Ouch.

And, now that we've got the Battleset Builder, and those nice maps of Africa, South America, etc., shouldn't we now start adding ships and planes for the more important African and South American nations?

Off the top of my head, here are some possibilities...

http://www.answers.com/topic/south-african-navy

http://www.answers.com/topic/south-african-air-force

Valour class Frigates

Warrior (ex Minister) class Fast Attack Craft

River Class(Coastal Mine Hunters - MHC)

Type 209/T.1400 class Submarines (SSK)

Denel AH-2 Rooivalk

South African versions of the Cheetah and the Grippen (I think most of the other planes are already in the database)

Kenya has some missile boats...

http://www.answers.com/topic/kenya-navy

Most of the other African nations, it seems, don't have any significant navy (I think they're mostly some of the patrol boat classes that are already in the database, although perhaps the actual ships should be added to the ship lists) and most of their aircraft are either Russian, American, Chinese, or European exports.

http://www.hazegray.org/worldnav/ covers many of these smaller navies, but since it was last updated around 2002, some new ships may have been added.

Do we need any new variations on these platforms or can the ones in the HCDB be used?

For some of the planes, the ones used by several different countries, would it make sense to just provide an INTL entry and a few of the most common loadouts rather than trying to handle every possibility? (I was surprised you didn't do that for the F-5, actually...I'd have thought doing that would be easier than adding one for each country, although it is a little more convenient to scenario designers that way.)

I'll be back with more requests (i.e., South American ships) soon. :)

Hehe .. yes, its nevertheless still good news. :D

Firstly, I've tackled the South America issue with a completely new database, called the HCDA (Harpoon Commander's Edition Database Americas). More about it here and here.

You can download it from the Downloads section of this website here.

As for Africa, I'm still thinking about how to best tackle it. Some of the North African/Mediterranean nations are already represented in the HCDB, and I could just keep adding em, but space is a serious concern. For example, there is virtually no room left for aircraft Loadouts. I don't think it would be helpful to just cram in only a few African entries at the expense of those regions already covered by the HCDB.

So, what to do? Start a whole new database that covers Africa and other select global players like the HCDA does? Ugh, as if I don't have enough on my plate already.

Some changes are coming down the pipe that may eventually solve the DB space limitations issue, and part of me (a large part, actually) would like to wait and see a bit before launching into yet another DB. I'd still like to hear your comments, of course.

HCDA is very cool. (I finally figured out how to switch databases...it was much easier than I thought it would be. Now, of course, I have to include which database to use when I write new scenarios, but that's not a big deal.)

As for Africa...Africa might be easier because, aside from South Africa, there aren't many large navies or air forces that aren't already in the database. Most African ships, subs, aircraft, etc. are imports, built by the U.S., Europe, etc. so you can just use generic MiGs, F-5s, etc. in a lot of cases (I was also assuming for bases you would just have to rely on the Generic airfields, etc...fortunately, with Answers.com it's easy to find their location.)

But I would like to see some of the South African platforms included, if possible.

I found the glitch-crash error for another ship in the HCDB...

INTL Hainan PG

Try to look at the weapons it carries and it crashes the scenario editor.

Just thought you would like to know.
