no. I just checked and am not sure what I was looking at. You're right, they do have 48. I must have been up too late when I was looking at it!

No problem. If nothing else you've prompted me to look at the old Horizon entry. :D

Hey guys

I'm going to be doing some scenarios featuring the "blue water" capabilities of the Indian navy for IOPG and WESTPAC- would you consider the following for your next update:

1) A dedicated Indian version of the land based MiG-29

2) Adding a BrahMos loadout (rumored at 1 missile) to the SU-30

3) Revisiting the loadouts for the MiG-29K, to give players more options for the only effective carrier based Indian fighter- possibly some Israeli weapons, such as Derby and SPICE?

4) India has expressed interest in the Dassault Rafale- it would be nice to have this as an option too.

5) The HAL Tejas light combat aircraft

6) Is the SS-N-27 really good for 250 DP? This seems too good to be true.

Let me know if I can help with research, or in any other way. I can make the changes myself and upload the new DB for your consideration if that's acceptable. Thanks

Patrick :)

Only if currently existing loadout options permit it. (Due to extremely limited space in the DB).

2) Adding a BrahMos loadout (rumored at 1 missile) to the SU-30

See above, though I'd really like to add this one if I can help it.

3) Revisiting the loadouts for the MiG-29K, to give players more options for the only effective carrier based Indian fighter- possibly some Israeli weapons, such as Derby and SPICE?

Certainly if the info is out there, I'd be more than happy to revisit the loadouts.

4) India has expressed interest in the Dassault Rafale- it would be nice to have this as an option too.

Depends on what happens with the Indian Air Force's MMRCA competition.

5) The HAL Tejas light combat aircraft

I've been awaiting good H4.1 data. So far, nada.

6) Is the SS-N-27 really good for 250 DP? This seems too good to be true.

It will be revamped to 42 DP in the next iteration of the HCDB.

Let me know if I can help with research ...

Research is always encouraged and appreciated, particularly links to reputable sources, and especially H4.1 data. Use a separate thread to post your findings.

Something new and interesting for an upcoming version of the HCDB: the anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM).

I've done some testing with it and let me say, it is a nasty, nasty weapon.

Should be fun. ;)

Request correction of Arleigh Burke Flight IIA : They have 64 and 32 VLS launchers, and they can't replenish at sea, as the cranes were removed to make room for the additional launchers.

See Harpoon 4.1 annexes, HNR 2003

The at-sea reload systems for the VLS groups were eliminated to permit adding three VLS cells per group... [snip snip mine] Harpoon missiles were eliminated to reduce costs, but there is provision to reinstall them later between the stacks; without them, the ships will have no dedicated on-board antiship missile system.

Yes, well known, just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Thanks for the reminder.

Thought so, but better to give refs to facilitate db editors job, just in case.

Would it be possible to enhance the abilities of the SU-33, to wit: redo the mostly unused "patrol-2" loadout to include the AA-12 R77-M1 longer range AAM? This will make Russian naval adventures much more interesting. THANKS for all your help. Patrick

Incredible, we've missed in the DB a plane shot down in air-to-air combat the last month: Zlin 143 !!! hehehe (but I remember, this planes destroyed some Sri Lanka jet fighters in air-to-ground strikes, and I remember, too, some previous request for An-2 and/or Po-2 (WWII and Korean War), we can also think in the MFI-15 in the Biafra's War):

I am going to pass (or at least, delay) on doing this, given the uncertain status of the R-77M1. Right now, I've only assigned it to the Su-35 and I think it will stay there for the foreseeable future.

I'm going to put out a new (and overdue) version of the HCDB shortly, and if you have any last minute requests (either for new additions or corrections to existing data), please post them here as soon as you can. Thanks. :)

1. Is it possible to add the Makin Island LHD-8 as its own listing? It has a different propulsion plant from the other Wasp class ships.

2. I would like to see CVN-78 and LHA-6

3. I know they are long gone but I would like to see the Albany and Cleveland class guided missile cruisers and Des moines class heavy cruisers.

3. Essex class cva, cvs.

Thanx

Yeah, I've considered that. I'm not sure what it would add, though. Any other differences between LHD-8 and its sisters?

2. I would like to see CVN-78 and LHA-6

There probably isn't enough detail available yet, though I'd be happy to receive anything you can find.

3. I know they are long gone but I would like to see the Albany and Cleveland class guided missile cruisers and Des moines class heavy cruisers.

The Albany could certainly merit an entry, as these did not leave service until 1980. I think most of the Clevelands refitted as missile cruisers would have left service in the mid to late 1970s, so I'll think about that one some more. The Des Moines left even earlier, however, so I doubt those will make it into the HCDB. (The HCDB aims generally for platforms from 1980 and later).

3. Essex class cva, cvs.

As much as I'd love to add the Essex class (for obvious reasons ;) ), they're a little too early in the timeline for the HCDB and it would perhaps be a pointless exercise if we couldn't add the relevant air wing. And we can't add the aircraft because we lack space in the Loadouts Annex. :( Meanwhile, Rene has a database which would address this particular era.

I appreciate the suggestions! :)

mmmm, a very simple and almost indetectable pirate launch, for pirate scenarios based in the operative procedures of the pirates, the DB has a mother ship (the entry 2450 "Pirate"), but I think we need the autonomous, detached, previously released for the mother ship, pirate launch, i.e. for scenarios based in time of presence of pirate ships and launch in determined sea zones, undetected and potentially hostile.

I've read in the paper today also about dhows with occult engines, capables of 25 knots.

Hehehe, looking for data, and thinking from the morning about the pirate scenario, just now in the news:

... and with a useful map
