I fall into the camp of "Not an isssue" on this one. The zzz entries indicate that the DB author is holding those entries for future use but back then one couldn't have a gap in AnnexIDs so the zzz approach was used. The expectation is the base is the bare minimums and any defenses would be added as separate units in the base group's formation. Am I missing something? At most I'm seeing a feature request here to remove the side column but that would require DB author's to agree that they wouldn't configure defenses per side so it is something I would be unlikely to prioritize for development.

Troubleshooting: BSB 2015.027 doesn't have the error

Confirmed in BSB 2020.010 You can close it from the taskbar but that's not pertinent to the error.

Then again I also did a regular attack, not BOL, will try again tomorrow.

Tony, I played it a couple of times and did not see the issue surface. Can you zip and post your GE.log from after the heap corruption error when the game closes? Perhaps I'm not replicating your configuration of the game well enough. Heap corruption can also be very tricky to debug so if anyone else can replicate TonyD's problem, please chime in.

Yay! A number of us have written modified rules for Captain's Edition over the years, mixing Red Banner in, etc. I think Captain's Edition drives a valuable pattern of thinking in game rule design. Captain's Edition isn't quite enough but with a few tweaks, one really can learn a lot about Modern Naval Warfare without the potentially off-putting depth of Harpoon 3, IV, V.

Yes, I'm hoping you might arrange a time that works for Europe, Australia, etc. Is that a possibility?
