The Chinese claimed to NATO that this attack was neccesary to crush anti Chinese terrorists that were based on the island. NATO was never aware of any terrorism in China which was being co-ordinated. Further suspicions of ill doing are being raised by the fact that reports have been coming out that the Chinese appear to be building defences and seem to have no intention of leaving the island. US intelligance has determined that the attack was fueled by an intent to build nuclear missile launch facilities off of the Chinese mainland and ever closer to US owned territories, in the hope that their anti terrorism story could stall any attempt by NATO to react to their actions, long enough for them to establish a strong military presence on the island and then spread their occupation further through the Philippine island which the US began to withdraw from a few years ago. The US has managed to steam a small Tarawa task force into the region in order to quickly seize the intiative and grab a foothold on the island before a larger follow up battlegroup arrives on scene to push the Chinese off of the island. Their first intent will be to seize and hold the key airbase at Basa to allow further reinforcements to be flown in. The US does not have a huge force with which to perform this task, but their troops commanders are determined to succeed and peel back the Chinese attempt to move the nuclear threat ever closer to their homeland. Scenario for HCE/Westpac Battleset: Operation Philippine Crunch
Other changes: - Spellings corrected in orders file. (Marine is now spelt with a capital M... PETE! <g> ) - Order file adjusted to include more details and hints as to what the viConds required under the ORDERS heading. - Blue Min Vics removed as these were not neccesary and causing problems with early total victory. (Dont ask) - Red Min OR Vic has been adjusted to allow slightly more attrition on Blue ground forces since the enemy presence is so strong. Wow what can I say but thank you for those marvellous comments, the support I recieved with French Titan and now this has been un-measurable and I am to say the least shocked at the positive responses ive recieved so far for both scenarios!!! Tony - Im really pleased you had fun with that scenario, I hope later improved versions will give you even more fun if you ever play again, especially since there is ALOT of randomness built into this already. So for your sins Brad... V1.2 of this scenario is now availalbe for anyone wishing to test it... those of you who have started on V1.1 please continue to play that version as these were only very minor tweaks and opinions and thoughts are still very much valid in that version! French Titan A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 GIUK Gap battleset. This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side. France has gained confidence in its current military arsenal and wishes to show the UK that it could easily overpower the belief that Brittania rules the waves. which has long scalded France since the defeat of Napolean. They intend on seizing and maintaining control of the Channel and then controlling all traffic that is heading for Britain. The French have publically annouced this act through the media as the English Defence Secretary watched in utter disbelief that no political discussions were ever made, this comes as a complete surprise to the British and its armed forces are now under extreme pressure to mobilise and stop the French from taking hold of the precious Channel. The UK has now warned the French government that such actions will be met with a harsh military response to which they have recieved no reply. In this scenario you will command the currently mobilised UK naval and air assets to neutralise this threat to British interests. Brad - Thats excellent news! I think V1.3 has to be the release after I double check everything, I should be posting it up sometime this evening GMT! Pete - Thanks for offering to check it out, I think we are already on a winner for a release version, so im looking to push it out this evening but by all means there is nothing stopping you playing Tony - Good idea, and I have now completed a run through of the scenario and nothing appears to cause a crash under 2008.024 with the 080122 version of HCDB Thanks to those of you that have taken the time to have a look and a run through, the input has been greatly appreciated, its now time to let it out into the wild methinks *rushes off to check spellings etc*

Thanks for you help with this Brad it is much appreciated!! I have also taken note and adjusted a few things based on other reccomendations in the discussion we had on IRC So without a further of a do, attached is the release candidate for the scenario, considering the minor problems that were discovered with the last version which should be resolved now. If anyone has the time to do so a test of this version would be very well recieved, if no-one takes me up on the offer I will assume all is well and release to the public in the next few days Cheers! I would highly grateful if someone could take this scenario for a spin and give me some pointers on what could be improved before I release this to the playerbase. This is my first ever new scenario for anything, so the whole theatre of scenario design as a whole is totally new to me so please be gentle I hope this gives you some enjoyment as I did building it!! I have been working away on the icons since the gift of 2008.037 and I intend to release a mod for the playerbase based on this when the next full patch is released to them. This is ongoing work at the moment and I would appreciate any feedback on how you think they look, and whether they screw up at all for you! HCE - 2008.36 ============== - Chg:0000 GE Move the unit/group icon graphic out of Harpoon32.dll and into the Graphics subdirectory of the game. Result This has been tested by myself with the ship icon and works fantastically. Check the below image... Also attached to this mail is a copy of the file which I have edited... feel free to use it.. I am planning on perhaps revamping the symbols for my own taste and releasing as a mod when the patch is officially released. See what you think of the ship symbol in the picture GR_ICONS.zip

I have noted recently that we appear to have some TacOps lovers here on this forum! Which to me is wonderful news! I finally have someone to play against! woo woo! If you would like a PBEM game with me (As currently my lifestyle does not support a full network game) please PM me and I will provide you with my email address in which to send turns. I will warn however that I have never touched the PBEM module of TacOps before, so I would appreciate any setups with offers of a game to be sent to me, I am not confident enough to setup a decent game by myself at this time. 2008.024 bug report: GetMemAnnex Error: IS_DISK
Defect Name: GetMemAnnex Error: IS_DISK Build: HCE 2008.024 Repeatable: Yes Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 DB used: HCDB-080406 Scenario used: Kodak Moment Battleset: EC2003 IOPG Long Description: The error described in this topic description was displayed randomly during a scenario with seemingly no provocation from myself. Process: - Open GE - Open the attached save for EC2003 IOPG named "KodakMoment1". - Run until error - Note error displayed Expected Behaviour: Game should continue running without error Exhibited Behaviour: Game stops and crashes to desktop after displaying the GetMemAnnex error Notes: I have now tested this with the 2008.035 GE which addresses an issue with a GetMemAnnex: IS_DISK error and it appears to work ok in this version. This is perhaps something to be aware of should any of the playerbase come across the issue. I would however still appreciate someone testing the save to make sure it is the release version that has the issue, not my computer, since I run all my testing on the latest beta versions on a Virtual PC with XP SP2 installed. Tony - You probably need take no action with this since you have fixed it, but it has now rendered the current scenario I am playing useless until the patch is released for the retail version. others will likely encounter this one sooner or later. EDIT IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ----- In testing this further for a workaround I have found out that the problem occured due to me updating to the latest version of HCDB today... After I reverted to the original DB that was present with 2008.024 (HCDB-080122) the problem was rectified and the scenario now continues. This will be something to be aware of if users have updated to the latest version of HCDB and are experiencing the above issue. Workaround: Replace latest version of HCDB with the previous version which worked (HCDB-080122), until next patch release for HCE Kodak_Moment1.zip

HCE 2008.034 This fix was tested and appeared to work, but after running the scenario for about 10 seconds it then crashed with the following error: Can someone please confim they experience this also.
