I'm thinking it is a problem somewhere between the chair and the keyboard. There is a Zoom to Main body button only in the Scenario Editor. I have the legacy package and all of the old versions installed on my system. It appears the "Zoom to Main Body" function in the game itself was present until Harpoon Classic '97, when it went away. I assume HCE can be purchased from South Korea via the Matrix online store. If not, yes, we can help you get it like you got HC Gold. So if you have any problems, let us know and we'll assist. We here cannot give you the WestPac beta installer. AGSI requested we remove it around the time HCE was released. The WestPac beta was just that, a beta and HCE is so much more capable and stable anyway that it was a move we were comfortable making to stop distributing the WestPac beta. As for the rest, yes it is fiction and designers are free to assign sides as they see fit. I appreciate hearing your opinion on the reaction though, it is the first feedback I've seen about the sides assignment being taken so seriously. If I understand correctly, what the player wants to do is to create a scenario where S. Korea is pitted against Japan. If that's correct, I know that Japanese bases can be assigned as either Red or Blue in the Scenario Editor. As to the Japanese units, it should be easy enough to use the PE to get what he needs. I'd guess he could make copies of the desired units and assign them a Red identity. I hope this helps. Buddha

I usually use IE, but I have Firefox 3.6.2 here on my Vista system. I don't notice any problems with it. Buddha

I had no problems with the older version 3.0.(1 0r 2) and I think if I can't solve this I'll go back to it. I like firefox and infact my internet service provider (I'm on a satelite) recommends it. Apparently more secure. My version 3.6 seems OK on other sites but harpgamer seems to have a lot of icons and little graphic thingees and these are what seem to go wrong for me. I guess if I folloewed the if it works don't fix it I'd still be using my 286 and PC Dos - maybe Don As an old DOS hand, I'd say don't be so quick to sell it short. I have more annoyances of various kinds in one day using Vista than I ever had in a month using DOS. Buddha

The window still pops up here the same way it always has. Buddha Don't know what caused that, but after I saw your post I assumed not everyone was having this problem. One thing I noticed is I unzipped .002 back into my HCE folder and it wouldn't overwrite .003...said file was in use. Tried to delete the .003 WINHARP.EXE manually and same thing...it's in use. HCE wasn't running, but according to Windows Task Manager I had 3 sessions of WINHARP.EXE running (that's what was locking the .exe file from deletion/overwrite)! I manually killed the 3 WINHARP.EXE session in Task Manager, uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled entire program from scratch and all is good now. That was wierd! Sounds like typical Windows BS to me. Buddha

I have to agree about the father/son/girlfriend thing in Midway. Far too many good flic's have been adversely affected by the writers insistence on tossing subplots like that into the mix if you ask me. I'd guess they feel it's necessary in order to catch and hold the interest of movie goers who either don't understand or aren't that interested in the main thrust of the movie.

Just to toss in my two cents here, I have the recently offered Legacy Package installed, as well as the original Amiga and Mac versions I can play using WinUAE and Sheepshaver respectively. Although all that stuff is nice for nostalgia, the latest full version offers so much more. The PE and Battleset Builder alone are well worth the full version cost. Additionally, the tech support available within this group puts what's available for most games out there to totally shame. I'd heartilly recommend it at twice the price if asked.

He might want to try reinstalling WinZip on the problem system, or try an alternative like WinRAR. Buddha

I get the impression that he's getting an error when he tries to unzip the download, that it's corrupt or empty. I think the only reason he mentions the scenarios to point out that other zip files from the site are coming down intact. I'd recommend trying the downloads again, and if that doesn't work, a zip file repair utility, such as ZipRecover, available here: http://www.ziprecover.com/

Interesting. I am running Vista 64. Thinking it might be something else in the background causing the new release not to run, I disabled everything using msconfig and tried again. Still no joy. This is far from the first thing I've had problems with under Vista. Right now I'm running 2008.044 with no problems. In previous versions (HC Gold and before), I recall there was some info within the Help facility. I didn't find that stuff in the HCE Demo, so I just assumed that the Help facility had been omitted from the HCE Demo version. (?) Unless things have changed, if you're running Vista, you need to download this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en from Microsoft to be able to use the help feature in Harpoon. It's free, and only taked a few minutes to install. Buddha
