Jean I think the bee hive scenario is still tied to the legacy battleset as the DB is not shown next to the timer on the bottom right of the full screen page. I wonder if you could test the same scenario but from the more recent USNI battle set. The battle set is scenario number nine and the region is the GIUK. I believe it will be the top USNI battle set in the selection window. I believe it has a different battle set then the older USNI which is the bottom one on the choices. It should show 170913 as the battleset as it seems that is locked in. Tony

As this is a legacy DB could it be corrupted on his machines? All his machines are from the download from the same source. Just throwing out ideas. Can he be sent someone's legacy DB and replaced in one of his machines to test for testing?

AVG free. I have ran a new game and from many of the saved games and had no crashed for hours of play. I am using McAfee and was requested to post for reference. I am also downloaded from HUCE starting with the 2009.50 version to the latest. TonyD

Just for FYI JB you will make sure you also use the DB 170909 as the scenario was created with that one.

You just need to accept writing over the commondb.res. Then the game will accept the DB you want to use. Tell me which scenario you want to play and I will walk you through it.

Use the HC Launcher it is awesome when jumping around scenarios with different DBs use to create it. After downloading HC Launcher and learning what I needed can scenario, db and save game option of a game in seconds and even start it as paused.

I think those versions differences are mainly debugging and updating of the Legacy DB. The Legacy version goes up to 2015.027 which is the last official updated version. The legacy version may have some enhanced game play but all run under the same DB. A good place if you want to see what happened in each version would be to read the here is a thread from Harpgamers that might help.

Well depending on what Version you are using will determine what changes have occurred. The latest version is 2020.012. If you have just loaded the game you might be at 2009.50 or possibly 2015.027. The databases have expanded a lot and some scenarios are version and database specific. If you have question just let me know your version and we can go from their. Tony

I think you will have to update to the latest version. It is found in the current files. Here is the link You will also need to use the DB 170909 found in Databases download. Since you are updating from 2015.27 you will also have to run this link too. The file is made by TonyE. This restores the editor buttons that were lost during version updates. You might want to check to see if they are missing first as a few updates since this problem have come out. hce_remsettings.exe

Ok HB4 HB5 and BBB are 170909 specific. Most of the latest 170909 specific. Those should run with 170909 loaded. If you have trouble with any scenario let me know which one and I most likely can help you with it. Now if you wish to edit any scenario you will need the required DB also installed.

Ok that is good. Now please load DB 170909 and try the ones that you got the error with again. I am thinking the ones you are specifying or 170909 specific. I tested the ones you mentioned. Now the Spratly three one you called has a very specific DB and that author would be the one in this thread now.

I need to know which DB and scenario you are trying to use. Right now it looks like a mismatched DB to scenario. If need be we can bring to you a chat and work with you directly. There are a few scenarios that are DB specific. One more question can you run the older battle set scenarios prior to Battle set for 2003. Need to know if the game runs at all. If it does then load the data base 150928 and try running the later Battle set scenarios listed.

Once you have gotten the latest version downloaded and running you will need one more download. Go here and type on the highlighted words in the window below. This corrects a quirk that happens when updating to the latest version. It should run automatically and fix the formation editor problem.

Good now here is where you probably need to go from there. Some of the latest scenarios do require a later version of the game which is referred to as a Beta version which is the work of individuals to keep improving the game. 2015.027 is the latest official updated version from Matrix. The version you are at is not recent enough version to run those scenarios as they were made with an even later version. There is an order to loading up the later version which should alleviate all you problems. The order to load the latest version will require that after you load up to 2015.009 you will need to follow this short order to get the latest version to word properly. Follow this order after updating to 2015.027. You can go directly there by clicking on Current Files in the window below. I will check here to see if it gets you up and running.

Hi Racer Some User related scenarios do require the latest version and certain DB. I you can tell me what DB and Scenario you are trying to load I might be able to help you. Also need to know which version you are running. The version should show up at the top left of the page. It will be a year then update number like 2020.009 which is the latest version.

I forget you had make a new build and that corrected my error. I have put it to both HCDB and HCBII and it works. So with Eric's DB it seems to have not problems yet seen. I have also went and transferred aircraft to the reclaim bases with no problems. Rainman you will I believe and found out will have to be up to date with the latest build found in HC beta testing-general- current files to have this work. I believe it is 2020.009.

My bad just go here and download the fix it was a quirk but it is fixed with this. I forgot about that when I told you.

Rainman If you follow the prescribed updated method of the current files you should have no any problems running any scenario with the proper DB. There are a few scenarios when HCDB2 170909 is the only DB that the scenario will run with. Most of the others will run with HCDB 150928 from 2003 and later battlesets. 2000 and prior will run with the built in DB. Now with that said if you do have problems feel free to contact me in message and we can help figure out the problem. I have been helping TonyE with testing on his builds and found it to be problem free so far even with older scenarios. As far as two different directories I believe that can be done of different drives but the new build makes that no necessary. Also take a look at his HC laucher in tools. It simplifies switching out DB for that require a specific data base and the save system is awesome. We can help with that as well.

Hey TonyE Scenarios cannot be edited without the loop reoccurring. When you just edit and change nothing the game will go back to freezing within the first ten minutes.
