This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side. Thus far, this multi part campaign has witnessed Israel carry out a preemptive strike in defense of the nation, only to ignite a wider regional conflict which resulted in the destruction of both Nevatim and Damascus by nuclear fire. Russia has condemned the action and come to the aid o…

Set up Keflavik as a Red Base and added a battery of SA-6s and then ran an attack mission on it. My but I was surprised to lose 30 incoming JASSMs to I-HAWK missiles coming from a Soviet occupied base. I'm guessing I would have to go into the Platform Editor to strip them out, but it does seem odd that a RED base gets to keep and use NATO SAMs.

Has anyone ever seen the Red side AI use the Oscars against the airfields? Just a few shipwrecks sent the right way and you get all those Orions and Nimrods out of the way.

File Name: Gauntlet in CommonDB File Submitter: mavfin File Submitted: 30 Mar 2011 File Updated: 4 Apr 2011 File Category: GIUK DB Used: HCDB-110304 Authors: converted original GIUK Battleset-GIUK: .scm - EC2003 - EC2003 This is my first attempt at scenario making for a wider audience than myself. Just the old Gauntlet scenario from the original GIUK battleset, updated for EC2003 GIUK. I had to tweak the air units a bit, and I still haven't gotten the sub close enough to fire torpedoes at me, but, the last time I tried this, a Fencer clipped a merchie with an ARM, and missed the Brave with 2 of the ASMs, but I still won. Take a look at it, and see wh…

First off I want to say thank you for everyone who has created and uploaded amazing scenarios! I just got back into Harpoon after a few years and it is great to see people still active in supporting the community. Now for my question... Does anyone have any recommendations of scenarios with large numbers of aircraft, carrier battle groups, and bases? I enjoy having a mixture of each element in my games instead of scenarios that focus mainly on just one aspect. An example of scenarios I really enjoyed are F14 Fleet Defender and Red Line And thank you again for creating and maintaining a great community!

I'm working on some ideas for realistic Cold War scenarios involving Soviets, and I'm trying to figure out something. Under what circumstances would you have the Soviet Navy shooting at people, possibly even NATO ships, c. 1985, where things do not rapidly turn into a global exchange of nuclear weapons? Some ideas... 1. Spies on the run. Submarines on both sides probably sneaked in close to enemy shores all the time to gather intelligence, etc. I'm guessing that if those submarines had been forced to surface, perhaps even fired on, there would have been a lot of grumbling from the country that sent them and maybe a tit-for-tat response like sending an ambass…

Scenario: Lets go to war Author: Brad Leyte (CV32) Battleset: Westpac Database: HCDB Skill level: Advanced\Expert Involved units: Full (Land\Sea\Air operations) Where can I get it? Here (Harpgamer) Review: First impressions: On first opening the scenario I am greeted with an enormous order of battle and a very wide area of operations. Before engaging the clock it was of the utmost importance that I got dug in to the OOB and the scenario orders. Processing that and setting up my combat units and orders took me in the region of 1 and half to 2 hours. I had never opened a monster scenario, so this was my first taste of such a beast, I was determined to b…

AAR: The Java Sea Incident [spoiler Alert] A Harpoon Classic scenario By Mark Gellis I had no idea where the convoy was coming from. Intelligence and my orders hinted that it might be coming around the east side of Borneo, but I could not be certain. Therefore, I had to plan for patrols on both sides of Borneo until it could be located. Even in the age of satellite photography, it isn’t easy to locate a convoy of ships that don’t want to be found. Tengah quickly launched her E-2 Hawkeye as it had the best sensors around. I couldn’t allow it to venture far from Tengah since her poor speed and the low loiter time available for her escorts would leave her easy pr…

File Name: Oubliette File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 13 Mar 2008 File Category: WestPac DB Used: HCDB Authors: Brad Leyte Battleset-WPac: .scq - WPac - WestPac Oubliette A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the Westpac Battleset. This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side. The war in Central Europe is bogging down, and although NATO has suffered horrendous losses, the Soviet armored thrust has lost its momentum. There are rumours of growing dissension and unrest among the upper echelons of military command in Moscow. The risk of the Soviets resorting to the use of nuclear weapons in desperation has climbed considerably in the pa…

World War in the Pacific An After Action Report By: Beargrowlz Scenario: Third Idea Battleset: WestPac Scenario Author: Brad Leyte I received orders to protect a number of Japanese surface groups, the Japanese mainland and destroy enemy presence on Naha (the southwestern tip of the Japanese islands) and the Kurils (Northeastern tip). (One note here, the orders call for retaking objective YYb in the Kurils, but there is no YYb. I assume the author meant objectives YYb and or ZOa, also in the Kurils). The tasks looked daunting at first. With only one United States CVBG available, and at that over 1000 miles from the Japanese Home Islands and to the west of G…

Where's Silver Tower When You Need It? An AAR By Beargrowlz Scenario: Silver Tower Battleset: HDSC-HDS III-IOPG Scenario Author: wombat1417 I loved the book "Silver Tower" by Dale Brown when I read it some 25 or so years ago so this scenario peaked my interest. I was excited to play it and despite a somewhat disappointing finish, found the experience well worth the effort. This would be the first scenario I played with The Ultimate Edition - but as my HCE had been up to date, I don't believe there were any differences in play. My orders were simple - prevent the Russian invasion of Iran. Diplomatically my hands were tied behind my back. In order to preven…

I'm planning a scenario using Diego Garcia, does anyone know what the current defenses are for the island? Besides the pre-positioned ships and the transient tankers and bombers what are the air defenses like and are there any fighters or garrison? Do any small naval combatants call the base home? Thanks for any insight.

View File Kaliningrad Clash, Part 1 Kaliningrad Clash, Part 1 - Nato side A scenario for Harpoon Classic Battleset : EC 2003 GIUK Database: H2DB by JSF The last days saw ever more growing tensions between Nato and Russia. While the war in Ukraine has become one of attrition, several new hot spots came to daylight. The most dangerous one being the Russian Kaliningrad exclave. Kaliningrad is absolutely vital for the Russians since it is superbly located for cutting off the Baltic Republics from Nato via occupying the Suwalki Gap and threatening Nato countries with Iskander ballistic missiles. Thsi scenario deals…
