Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

  5. Three patrols within formation about Richmond base have been set P3s dropping sonar buoys to track their path. See screen shot, the two P3s patrolling the centre circle only patrol the east of north 1/8th segment. I expect them to patrol the whole central circular zone. Build: Aug 12 2007 (Release) Repeatable: Y Operating System: XP DB used: N/A Scenario used: NA Long Description: I somewhat stupidly and accidentally (yes, everyone belive that ) changed the size of the "Region" menu button thing. It crashed the program. I did it again and it crashed a 2nd time. A weird, possibly not fixable defect, but a defect none-the-less. Sequence to reproduce: Open game. After getting a couple of hours in to game time I experience game crash to desktop during a save, both manually and autosave, with the save game becoming corrupt and unable to reload. The popup at times would give me GetMemAnnexA Error: !IS_DISK)65535 [oxffff]) = 65536. I began to repeat the process with a game save about a minute before the crashes would occurred repeatedly and attempted save game would not reload as I believed it was corrupted. If a target is ordered to be attacked by an aircraft within gun range but outside gun arc (with no other weapons available) then a staff message is received "Sir, should we engage with only cannon fire?" If you answer yes the game will crash. If you answer no then your plane proceeds on its current course with no action. If you determine the bearing of the enemy plane using ctrlF then use course editor F3 to head generally in that direction you can engage the enemy. I'd expect that you should be able to answer yes to the staff message and have your aircraft turn to engage (if it turns fast enough), or at least not crash game. GE 2025.017 BS Malacca (built in HCDB2 170909) Attached zip with orignal scenario, two saved games (both should get to crash within a few secs, depends on luck of attacking SAM), two GE.LOG for respective saves but both very similiar. The attached (zipped) example uses westpac battleset, HCDB 150929 database and GE 2022.0.0.4 open test scenario BadPatrolSector.scq, select blue base, open formation editor (F4) set an air patrol but when clicking the mouse to set the sector have it over the edge of the extreme perimeter of the formation pattern. You can get a selection that is a complete pie section including the inner circle (which is wrong). See the BadPatrolSector.jpg graphic for the effect you're after.   18. In seemingly any game after setting radar to intermittent using F9 button, at game save game crashes

  20. GE crashes with out any warning. This has happened several time in about the same spot in the game. I have included the last 5 game saves 1 second apart.
