This is a little pedantic and more out of interest than anything: say you have a target comprising a single unit of three closely formed planes and you fire three missiles (eg heat seekers). Say you get three hits, now there is a likely hood (in reality) that two hits are on the same plane and so there is one survivor. This doesn't seem to be the case in Harpoon where the hits appear to be divided up evenly. Doesn't really cause a problem (in my mind) as both sides have the same situation and it isn't too far off, but an interesting case of minor deviation from reality. Don

Hi, Don't laugh. I still have the Harpoon Classic 97 game on CD Rom. I'm trying to install it on a Windows 7 PC. I've got the program installed and running, however it comes with the Scenario Editor, but no option during game installation or instructions for installing the wscenedt.exe file. I'm sorry if this issue was raised before, but I tried using the forum search and didn't find anything. Why was the dark water color option changed from Harpoon 2003 v16b3 to 2015-027? The old dark vs. The new dark Am I the only one having trouble with distinguishing blue force icons on this newer dark blue water hue? The light color option is far too bright and tiring to stare at for any extended period of time, while this darker option makes the game borderline unplayable when controling the blue side. Hi Folks, I have recently installed version 2009.042 on a new Gateway netbook running XP. The game seems to work ok but when I issue a patrol order for a base I can not see the box to click OK and I can not go any further in the game. If any one knows a solution to this issue I would appreciate the help.

I can't find the custom database I was using when my system crashed. The D drive where I keep the files is ok, but I had to reload HUCE. I made sure I moved the entire game over to a new folder with a new name. While the scenario editor's platform display still shows the database. I wonder if someone can give a definite answer to this question. Probably it has already been answered, and it may well have been asked by me before, because it's the sort of thing I would ask, but I don't remember. When a weapon is launched, does it head for where the target IS, or where the target IS GOING TO BE? Ditto for when the weapon is moving. May depend on the type of weapon.

1I found these instructions for opening the PE using MS Access Runtime. Runtime installed properly as far as I can tell. But it will not open pfbuild2005.mdb. I get an error box saying: "can't be started. was unable to initialize the Windows Registry. Rerun MS Access or MS Office Setup to reinstall." There is a note about problems running the PE under Vista, but I didn't find posted details about what that problem is and what the fix is. I don't have Vista, but I do have Windows 7. Any solution?

I thought I would try the WWII battleset built by Mavgaz, and I downloaded it. When I tried to copy it into the HUCE directory, I was told I would be overwriting other files. The two file names are hdsu.res and hdsu.rsr. AFAIK, I do not already have a WWII battleset installed, and certainly one doesn't show up among the listed battlesets I can select from when I start the game. What would I be overwriting if I put in these new download files? And in what seems to be a related question -- the Battleset builder. It prompts for, among other things, two files with .res and .rsr extensions. And I decided to throw in the hdsu. files (the ones I already had, not the one…
