Pearl Harbor Day rolls around again, I'm in the mood after watching a documentary on FDR, so with no further delay... A Different Christmas Poem The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a winter delight. The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps …

Pete asked for photos of my train track so here they are. Obviously I'm not into scenery, it is all about the track laying and wiring for me. Each track segment has its own leads soldered on with insulators between each track segment so in theory someday I can do all manner of sensing and signalling and computer control (keeping in mind I started this before DCC was affordable). Two more loops of track are planned (what you see are the 22" and 18" radius loops, 15" and trolley track are yet to appear). Recently I've been installing Tortoise switch machines (which I errantly called turtle one time when asking for them at the hobby shop).

Right now after reading I am asking my self about what is the main aim of HCE and H3. So far I guess .... The aim of HCE is a global simulation of Air - Naval (- Land) war with the main focus on gameplay (fun) and following the reality so far it does not brake down the gameplay. The aim of H3 is a local simulation of Air - Naval (- Land) war with the main focus on reality. Am I wrong or right? Dear Admin, please move this topic into another subtopic it it is here at the wrong place.

To all members of the HarpGamer forums and the greater Harpoon community, best wishes for Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Its been yet another great year for Harpoon, and with the release of the HCE demo, it should make for a great holiday season as the old timers, new players, and potential new players get some free time to try out the game. Between the smoky trails of your missile launches, make sure you spend some quality time with your loved ones over the holidays. Have a good one!

When I was in the KSA during Gulf War I, a picture was printed on page 1 of the local paper showing a cormorant covered with oil as a result of Saddam's despicable decision to pump crude into the water of the gulf. I believe the photo was distributed fairly widely at the time, and I'm trying to find it available for download someplace. I was working in Saudi Arabia as a civilian at the time, and one of Uncle Saddam's Scuds went off in the desert and blew the windows out of the back of my house. Passing out on the couch that day was the luckiest thing I ever did. Strange as it may sound, seeing that poor bird covered with oil ticked me of more than anything else I e…

My name's Silent Hunter. I'm British, got Harpoon 3 ANW for Christmas and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Those of you who visit TV Tropes and Idioms may have seen my work there- I started the category on real world nukes... I'm going to be adding some AAR stuff for the classic scenarios, as well as many of the player ones. I like the posting interface...

Hey 'Pooners, I'm doing research on the E2C Hawkeye and any limitations that it may have, specifically smaller targets on the water. Can the radar see smaller, sleeker yet fast moving fiberglass ships aproximately 50 feet in length moving at 100 knots? Any help is appreciated. Thanks to all, Steve

Can someone (er... Tony) please provide, in extreme layman's terms how one goes about registering, or re-registering their nickname on newnet? I for the life of me can't seem to crack the code and may need to give up all things harpoon if this cannot be remedied for this aging, knuckle-dragging grunt.
