Hello Designers, despite that it's 10 years old, here's a document that would be useful to DB designers, it detail the standard loadouts for the following aircrafts under the PACAF ( Pacific Air Forces ) command: 1. F-15E Configurations 2. F-15A/B/C/D Configurations 3. F-16C Configurations 4. A-10 Configurations 5. OA-10 Configurations 6. B-52 Configurations 7. B-1 & B-2 Configurations 8. F-117 Configurations 9. FA-18 Configurations 10. F-14 Configurations 11. EA-6B Configurations 12. P-3 Configurations 13. S-3A Configurations 14. AV-8B Configurations 15. KF-16C Configurations 16. When using the DB Editor that uses the H3 screen (not the MS Acces one, the other one) how do you create a new platform? In MS Access, I go to the last platform and click next, which gives me a blank record to work with. Doing this in the other one just closes the screen. I think I have a pretty fair handle on editing existing entries, just not how to create new ones. I don't find it mentioned in the manual anywhere either. Thanx, Buddha

The details are finally emerging of what is going to happen to the Royal Navy as a result of forthcoming defence cuts in this and numerous other articles. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13...rrier-axed.html I am confident that in light of all this, the Harpoon team will give an accurate representation of the Brit Senior Service in future patches, with regard to the construction of new warships. In particular, Her Majesty's Government seem to have resurrected an exciting concept originally invented by the Japanese back in '44/5: THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER WITHOUT AIRCRAFT The possibilities seem to be as follows: 1) The Queen Elizabeth class sans an…

Gunny, Would it be possible to provide more information updates about progress on the HUD-4? Specifically, would it be possible to start going through the various platforms posted in the request forum and... * If the platform has been added to the database, move the request (or have one of the moderators move it) to the archive so it is no longer cluttering up the request forum--although as the person who did most of the cluttering, I really should not be complaining about this. * If the platform has been accepted, but not added yet, could you let us know what the status is? Is it likely to be added in the next month? Next year? How high is it on the "to…

I'm not sure how often these databases get updated (I imagine the authors have actual jobs, families, etc. that might demand their attention, too), but here's what I would like to see added or expanded in these databases whenever it is possible to do so... (I'm guessing some of these do not even require adding new platforms, but just listing existing ones under appropriate countries.) Angola <-- it isn't even in the HUD 3. As I understand it, they have a few Floggers and a few Flankers; I think they also have a couple of Osa IIs. That's enough to cause a little mayhem... Brunei <-- add the Darussalam OPV (with a 57 mm. gun and Exocets, it's as dangerou…

I understand the various versions of the RIM-162 ESSM are primarily differentiated for the types of launchers with which they are associated, i.e. RIM-162A - Aegis/Mk 41 VLS RIM-162B - non-Aegis/Mk 41 VLS (no S band uplink) RIM-162C - Mk 48 VLS RIM-162D - Mk 29 box launcher but are there any differences in performance or capability between these versions ?

Been through the Reimer Editor (including the tooltips in the bottom message bar and the VBA code behind) and the in-game editor and the paper rules, and for the life of me I can't seem to confirm what (or whether) there are specific units of measure for various sensor parameters (like SearchOutput, SearchInput, PassiveInput, FCOutput, FCInput, etc.). Can anyone help with this? Same goes for platform signatures. TIA

I'm a Chinese player, and I got a copy of the database editor from TonyE(thank you!). But when I try to import the database into the editor, it crashed. And there was a pop-up messagebox on the screen which says "error 6: overflow!" After conducted several tests, I found the problem occurred only when you are using a non-english system. Here's the reasonable explanation:(I will take the Chinese edition of win7 into example) There's a bug about the unicode between different language: If you're using the Chinese system and there exist some special terms of english words, such as 's, 'v, 'd and so on, the system will translate the terms into a less Chinese letter suc…

I was just curious what people thought about the ANW DB? What are its main strengths and weaknesses? Having used the HUD-4 for a while, I think I'm going to try my hand at putting together a few ANW scenarios now, just to try something different. Any advice or recommendations? Also, just curious, are any updates planned for the future, especially since I understand ANW 3.11 is supposed to be released fairly soon? Thanks. Mark

Guys, from reading several threads over at Matrix foras one can get the impression that there exists only one working db and that this one is even a "patch" for ANW. Just to make it clear: There are two well-working official databases around - HUD 3 (Darren Buckley) and ANW DB (Dale Hillier). While Darren is out for the time being, Dale is working on the ANW DB and will release an updated version with ANW 3.10. Regards, Ralf

UnRep times: To calculate a [rough] unrep you need to know factors: With UnRep operations at sea you got 2 possible transporting options: 1: by cables between the ships 2: helicopter shuttles What I know about transportation by cable is that the sea must be relative calm; the ships rolling during this operation due to the displacement and speed of the ships so close to each other [about 10-20 meters]. Photo: US Navy The transport between the ships by cable line is relative slow. Electro engines or people running the cables. So it takes at least minutes to bridge the distance between the ships, but you must also calculate time to click o…

hello everyone, vids showing military aircraft training at Vlow altitude and stories where drop tank have hit the sea waves or the sand dunes are both common. it's also well know that in wartime, at least over the sea, pilots had to fly very low to not be spotted by the opposition's radar too early. a famous operational exemple is the argentinian Super Etendard wich were approaching their targets at between 10 and 15m above the water. off course, it deosn't mean that they would fly so low over land or even that they would do it by night or adverse weather. thow could we simulate it correctly? as far as i know, the lowest alt at wich teh planes can fly …
