I understand the various versions of the RIM-162 ESSM are primarily differentiated for the types of launchers with which they are associated, i.e.

 

RIM-162A - Aegis/Mk 41 VLS

RIM-162B - non-Aegis/Mk 41 VLS (no S band uplink)

RIM-162C - Mk 48 VLS

RIM-162D - Mk 29 box launcher

 

but are there any differences in performance or capability between these versions ?
