May 18, 201114 yr Halifax class frigate HMCS Charlottetown looks to have tossed some 57mm in the direction of Qaddafi's forces yesterday: Canadian ship returns fire at Libyan forces Thanks for the news. HMS Liverpool did something similar the other day.
May 18, 201114 yr Thanks for the news. HMS Liverpool did something similar the other day. From what I can gather, HMCS Charlottetown, HMS Liverpool and FS Courbet were involved together in the same general action. Sounds like Liverpool and Courbet did the heavy hitting with their 4.5 inch and 3.9 inch guns, respectively, from around six miles offshore. Charlottetown's involvement seems to have been restricted to some 0.50 cal flavoured deterrent.

May 20, 201114 yr NATO strike warship inside the Tripoli harbour (easy visual identification, but IKm occupied in a travel, and I have only the smartphone, of uneasy navigation) http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...li-harbour.html
May 20, 201114 yr Eight warships by now: http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/0...bya.war/?hpt=T2
May 20, 201114 yr Eight warships by now: That would constitute the bulk of, if not all, their offensive naval force, constituting patrol craft and missile boats, as evidenced by the bombing video. If Qadhafi and crew did not realize that laying mines and 'maritime IEDs' (as some are calling them) would give NATO a "segway" to destroying their navy, then they're dumber than I thought.

May 26, 201114 yr C-2A Greyhound on lease to the French Navy, for personnel shuttle between the shore and the CVN Charles de Gaulle in the present Libya campaing. The article also regrets the lack of organic COD aircraft in the French Navy: http://www.meretmarine.com/article.cfm?id=116317
May 27, 201114 yr From Aviation Week's Ares blog [excerpt] A Day In The Life Of A NATO AWACSPosted by Nicholas Fiorenza at 5/27/2011 1:13 AM CDT Last night I had one of the best seats, just behind the pilot, in a NATO E-3A airborne warning and control system (AWACS) on a mission to support Operation Unified Protector (OUP). The night time mission by an E-3A designated NATO03 relieved an RAF E-3D flying an orbit with a 12-mile radius in the Mediterranean surprisingly close to Libya.
