2010.007 Release Notes

HCE - 2010.007 - 2010/10/23

===========================

- Chg:B179 GE Recon subtype planes will now turn their radars on at or shortly after

launch. It was disabled in 2004 (thanks Akmatov)

http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...amp;showbug=179

- Chg:0000 GE Increase from 1 to 4 group windows. More importantly includes underlying

logic to manage detections per side.

As for testing, perhaps for now just reply to this thread with screenshots and examples and such. There will be a bunch of stuff that doesn't work right.

Also note that saves from prior versions will not work in this version and I won't guarantee at this point that saves with this build or new future ones will work in future builds either.

It other words, keep your 2010.006 or whatever you were using around for a while and run it in parallel with this. To that end, note that the GE in the zip has the name Winharp32sides.exe.

Tony,

Just downloaded and ran the new file, and I have a couple of questions.

Once you open more than one group window, is there any way to close any of them? The close button in the upper right does nothing for me.

How do you reposition these new windows? R-Clicking on the Strategic Window now seems to move the Unit window around, but has no effect on the Group Window(s). L-Clicking on the Strategic Window does nothing that I can see.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I'm back to getting quite a few Vista "Not Responding" alerts.

Thanx,

Buddha

Hehe, see post 1 in the topic. Windows not closing is a bug, repositioning windows, didn't realize anyone actually used the stratmap for this , also a bug (any suggestions on how this should act?).

As for not responding messages, four windows are drawing now instead of one so I suppose that's a possibility that you'd see more of those messages. I wouldn't expect them to go away but you never know.

................

A few things,

I opened as blue side (westpac walk through-nice and simple scenario),

the screen shot shows both a red and blue window. the red is "active". The unit window shows blue units which as yet have not been detected by red (I'm pretty sure). With red active the unit window doesn't show any red units not yet detected by blue (it will show the red base). When red is active the unit window doesn't seem to show what the red side really sees (here they should see red units and blue airbase but no other blue units) but instead what they can see in respect of what blue can see.

Also you can't select units by mouse clicking the unit screen or by combination of keyboard 'U' and 'tab' or other keyboard shortcuts.

The keyboard 'C' command now seems to be identical to keyboard 'U' and the black blob at top right of a group screen (should centre on selected group) is rather liable to crash the program but nothing else.

Regarding window location from the strategy map, I use it sometimes and like the left click for group (active group?) window and right click for unit window.

Early days, eh, but good work Tony

Don, I think 2010.008 fixes the c hotkey (in quick testing here it is centering and not crashing).

Totally agreed on the unit map.

Thank you for taking a look and reporting problems.

2010.009 Unit map is more sane :) . Should be posted Tuesday night or sooner.

Only just seen '.008 beta but noticed in '.007 that it doesn't seem to play properly if loaded as red. I'll expand if '.008 is the same.(maybe I'm expecting too much at this stage?

Great step forward!

How to generate a scenarion with the scenarioneditor were green units attack by it self (AI) red units?

And how to attack as NEUTRAL-player a blue base?

More tricky: How to attack as NEUTRAL-player a red base?

Neutrals are still neutered so those things are not yet possible.

Much of the plumbing is there though via the Sides structure (which will eventually allow Red and Blue to team up against Green, and the Red to get mad at Blue and break the alliance). But that's so amazingly far down the road I hesitate to mention it!

No mention it, I'm jumping in anticipation. Its good to know where things are going to keep inspiration on the boil. :D
