Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Replace "Username" with your forum username and 2017.011 with the version of the game in which you see the issue.
Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

Defect Name: No Standoff attack possible Build: HCE 2007.000 Repeatable: Y Operating System: XP DB used: HCDB-070524 Scenario used: Ambush Long Description: Sub group ordered to attack carrier group. Elects to attack the sub in the group with Stand-off weapon. However, Weapons Allocation window is blank. Sequence to reproduce: 1. Run No Standoff attack possible.hp2 2. Upon loading a saved game using the 2023.001 GE scenario crashed. Starting a new game with scenario and db loaded fine. Opened scenario in the SE without any issues. After the air to air guidance issue was fixed I decided to test other guided munitions such as torps and stand off missile. Test scenario and two saves attached. AGM such as the Taurus, Scalp egg and Storm shadow displayed repeatedly to lose direction when launch at multiple targets from one attacking group. It would guide to one of the designated targets then turn either to 0 degree heading or 180 degree heading prior to impact on any of the targets. I then repeated the test attacking each target separately and achieved correct results with hits on all targets attacked separately. I have a a re occurring crash with GE20019.001. I have narrowed it down to the second. Saved game GE 2019.001 SVG 115 crashes when opened. Saved game GE 2019.001 SVG 113 and 114 open correctly. They are 1 second apart. As long as I keep playing the scenario it keeps running. If you need me to go back several more game seconds please let me know. In the GE, when the formation editor button is pressed, the units for that group disappear from the Unit window. The units should remain visible in the Unit window.

Played in BS Westpac with DB HCDB2-170909 game version 2025.023. Carrier group AAC comprises three carriers each with unique class of ac. group ACA is sent out on patrol comprising ac from each carrier. It is ordered to RTB and land. Up until the landing commences the three units have their correct home unit being the unit from which they took off. The saved game AirMove1.0003 (from scenarioAirMove1.scq attached) is the second before they commence to land and units have correct home unit. One second later one ac from each unit has landed on the home carrier of unit AC000, no ac land on the other two carriers. I believe the units should land on their parent carri…

In the GE when you change zoom levels with the formation editor open, the units often don't draw in the correct locations, something is amiss with the scaling. They can also be drawn in the wrong location when first entering the Formation Editor

After leaving TonyD and I alone for 15 minutes we found an issue with the 2023.003 version of the SE. When selection weapons on a plane at an air base the SE Crashes. When selecting Sensor on a ship or a sub the SE crashes. Crashes verified by TD and myself with various db's and scenarios.
