Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

    Just playing a user scenario, and saw a flanker being shot down by a green pakistani ship. I saved it, and then the 2nd plane gets shot down as well. The game tells me I've shot down the plane. It seems logical enough that green has shot down the red plane, but my question is this supposed to happen? And would the green ships attack my planes? Should I sink green ships that threaten my forces? I remember one scenario which has a green ship which looks like a merchant cargo ship, but has a nuclear weapon in it's loadout. pakiflanker.zip

    Using an LG 22" wide screen 1680 x 1050 XP Pro AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual 4600 2.4 ghz w/2 Gb Ram My popups (Speed, Course, Launch, Staff Assisat etc) are all missing the right & bottom section. For example the speed popup doesn't hav\f the cruse, flank & OK/Cancel buttons. Maps seem OK. I hven't run the original on this machine I only have it on my laptop. but that is also a wide screen I think 1280 x 800. Lenovo 3000 N100 The popups on that version are fine.

  12. A user from the Great White North, recently returned to the game is experiencing memory corruption in the original USNI BattleSet, Scenario 5.0. He has experienced this both in 2020.009 and 2020.017. Some saved games are attached. I have tested extensively using AutoTest and have not replicated either issue (game exiting with heap corruption error [USNI5.zip] nor game exiting without any warning [NoErrorCrash.zip]). Right after the USNI5.zip saves a Slava is sunk but does not trigger a crash for me. The user has mentioned doing a lot of air group splitting and joining while playing.
