A little list so we have an idea where we're trying to get for the first patch which we should have ready by mid January. First i want to thank Tony for new Model and Dale for explanation about Gunnery in H4 and for providing his Gun Spredsheet. He says it is under development/beta. But i think atm it fits for the purpose. The Gunnery in H4 is based on 1 Minute bursts. So all values are based on this. I´ll take the 127mm MK30 as my example. And the russian 100MM BU-34. I was playing GIUK 3.0 "Hide and Seek" with the show-all running. I attacked a sub contact with a Lynx's helo and scored a hit. Due to recent upgrades to the forum software and components here at HarpGamer, the Bug Tracker referenced just under the HG logo has become useful for defect tracking. Tony and I were discussing this issue on IRC and it seems we may have some wiggle room in the code. Basically, we could probably create a rule in the code to deal with increased acoustic signatures when ships receive cumulative damage. The easiest way to implement such a rule would be to effect an increase in BSL values for every increase in value of the DP damage. For example, +2 BSL points for every 10 percent increase in damage. There might also be a different rule for submarines than for ships. This post is intended to provoke discussion on the topic, so please let us know what you think.

This continues from an issue reported by Akmatov, raised in a thread here and reported in the Issue Tracker here. Essentially, it appears that AI controlled aircraft of the 'Recon' type have not been activating their radar unless painted by enemy radar. This appears to have been the case since a version of HC Gold (specifically, hcg-2003.16b4b+) and, amazingly, has gone unnoticed until now. Currently, or at least until the next build is released, only aircraft of the 'AEW' (airborne early warning) and 'EW' (electronic warfare) types would activate their radar otherwise. I am looking for a few players to give a potentially GE and SE combination a workout. They support doubling from 2047/8 items per annex in the database to 4096 items per annex to give the database authors breathing room for a little while. If you are interested and can invest at least an hour in the next week exercising as many capabilities of the GE and SE as possible looking for crashes, please PM me your interest and e-mail address. Just to set expectations, in my limited testing the GE and SE are working well for existing scenarios, existing saved games, new saved games, and new scenarios. HCE - 2011.006 - 2011/06/04 =========================== - Chg:0000 GE Made enough sides changes that player should now be able to enter some basic commands for both Blue and Red sides. Examples are launching aircraft, setting paths, and adjusting EMCON. This does not include intercepting opposing forces. Hint, choose to play a scenario as both Blue and Red to try it out. You can leave the visual sensor dll in play if you want, either way should be fine. I also gave playing as Red and Green a quick try and was able to launch a green plane.

HCE - 2008.027 ============== - Chg:0000 GE Split graphics out of Harpoon32.dll and Winharp32.exe and into individual files within the Graphics directory. So in addition to testing the things in 2008.026 release notes, note if images are missing from dialogs (victory, staff assistant, etc.) in various battlesets. If you are a bit more advanced, try replacing some of the graphics and see what happens. If you are really advanced, look for memory leaks as there are two parts of the changed code that may be leaking memory with each load of one of the graphics.
