Last night i had a chopper landing on my frigate and the target of an enemy SAM (sm-2 I think) and was delighted but surprised to see the information "point defense got 'em all". Looking at my weapon ammo i deduced it was the 3" otto gun that got the kill. I've previously seen in a similar situation where the chopper lands before impact the sam hits the ship so really a nice result. Unbelievable shooting, maybe.

View File SouthPacIslands-NamedSeaTest This Battleset is to test the idea of text in the texture file naming geographical features, in this case some of the seas and oceans. The text is rather grainy and is not well aligned but is something that perhaps can be improved and show an idea for future more sophisticated work. The included scenarios are to be played using Database HCDB2-170909 and toy with an upgraded australian defense capability in line with various announcements of the early 2020s. Note for scenario 3, in order to obtain maximum surprises ensure you you have not disabled nuclear weapons. …

Hi guys, I am a long time player of harpoon. I want to try running the scenario editor on a Oracle virtual machine. Any help with what version of VM machine would be helpful. I want to use Windows XP as the operating system. Can I use windows XP professional? Should it be Windows XP 32 bit. I'm not asking for help to get this running, I just want to know what hardware and software I should use. Thanks in advance

Here's something new to me, if you use your mouse wheel it changes the selected group or unit (if you're in the group or unit window) up and down (north and south I guess). I suppose I don't use the mouse for lots of stuff so maybe every one knows this but it was a hoot when I saw it.

Testing old scenarios to constate DB editor is going fine, remembers me an old question. In relation to the attached screenshot and the lines "DEBUG Downes FF1070 PointDefense Got'm all" , Downes FF1070 effectively has expended all its ammo firing at the incoming missiles, some have been shot down (or not!) others not and have sunk poor Downes. The questions are: - In the simulation, the Phalanx is shooting down the incoming missiles, or it's only applied its Point Defense Value, a value unknown to me? - The Point Defense Value has any relation with the mount field "Auto", what reads "1" in this concrete case? - If not, the mount field "Auto" is o…

ErrataGE View File This file is written to run as an ExportDLL library with Harpoon Classic. It repairs errors in the Game Engine, when possible, external of the main program. The file ErrataGE.DLL should be loaded into the sub folder exportDLL\GE of your main installation folder (EG Matrix Games\HUCE) version 1.001 - 2025July22 - to run in beta game engines version 2025.007 or newer and HC2025.024_ComprehensivePatch. At game start the library searches game events looking for two types of errors that can occur effecting group air patrols in particular. Typically if these errors continue air patrol AC will fail to return to…

Came across the attached while looking for another reference. Thought interesting enough to share. Wondering if HUCE modeling would be consistent with the results in the attached. Geo IJIDSS0303-0408PAULO.pdf

Not really an issue, but a bit funny, has anyone else noticed that a sea mine after detonating (and possibly sinking it's target ship) live on but minus armament. Unlike the Baka style weapon equipped suicide boats the sea mine doesn't self destruct once detonated. Don

I'm wondering those who are regularly using HC which Game Engine version you normally use, eg 2022.027 last matrix patch, 2025 comprehensive update or something in between. Also, are you occasionally having aircraft fall from the sky having run out of fuel? I'm trying to find when this started, I'm thinking shortly after 2022.027. We have a bandaid fix for recent versions that seems to be working but in ge 2022.008 I recently seem to have found a new version of the bug that is immune to the bandaid solution.

If you use current Beta versions of the game (or the as soon to be released2025 official patch from matrix) then using ExxportDLL add_ons has slightly changed with TonyEs latest game features and you can be caught out. From(about) vs2025.012 both the game engine Winharp32 and the Scenario editor Wscenedit32 will now load exportDLLs that are in the standard install ExportDLL folder, only the GE will load them if they are in a subfolder ExportDLL\GE (you need to create this folder) and only the SE will load them if they are in a ExportDLL\SE subfolder ( you need to create this to use it). Current export DLL aren't designed to run in the SE and may cause issues so it wo…

For thise that don't scour Discord HC discussions a recent interesting concept came in about gaining points or awards for completing scenarios. Apparently this is something common in the gaming world so many will know about it. Its worth a little look at the discord recent posts of the last few days if you use the platform. Anyway it has me thinking about how this could be done (the structure is there to do it) and currently I'm thinking of issuing a score (by an unbiassed exportdll probably) according to some (not yet determined) formulae and string those scores for a player across related scenario strings eg a battleset. I think it could be a bit of icin…
