Hey Guys, I edited some of the wav files for HCE (and added/edited a couple thanks to Stalintc). I didn't want to be blown out of my chair & given a heart attack going from dead silence to a loud boom. I also added a couple little extras into some sounds. It's not a huge makeover but gives a few of the sounds a bit more flavor. Submitted the zip in the mod section. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=421

File Name: Nef's Sound Mod File Submitter: NefariousKoel File Submitted: 8 May 2009 File Updated: 8 May 2009 File Category: Tools/Mods/Docs Authors: NefariousKoel I edited some of the sound files for HCE. Changes include slightly lowering the .wav decibals for some of the sounds that could give you a heart attack. Also, some of the sound's tones were lowered a bit for less screaching and more BOOM. The missile explosions now have a very short rocket sound before the new, less startling, explosion that has turned out very well. Lastly, I added a couple sounds from one of Stalintc's excellent mods and did some editing on the missile launch sound. Tha…

File Name: ExportDLL-TimeCompressUse.dll File Submitter: donaldseadog File Submitted: 07 Feb 2013 File Category: Tools/Mods/Docs This program runs in the background and when the Harpoon session is finished files TimeCompressUse.Ini & TimeCompressUse.txt are created in the main Harpooon folder (where the winharp32.exe file is located) or updated with information on the last five game sessions. The information being the file path/name of the scenario (for custom scenarios) or the battleset and scenario number (for built in scenarios), the date and time the session started, the duration of the session and the percentage of real time spent in each time compression …

For thise that don't scour Discord HC discussions a recent interesting concept came in about gaining points or awards for completing scenarios. Apparently this is something common in the gaming world so many will know about it. Its worth a little look at the discord recent posts of the last few days if you use the platform. Anyway it has me thinking about how this could be done (the structure is there to do it) and currently I'm thinking of issuing a score (by an unbiassed exportdll probably) according to some (not yet determined) formulae and string those scores for a player across related scenario strings eg a battleset. I think it could be a bit of icin…

A revised version of AARdata.dll has been up loaded to the downloads section. This add-on program gives a summary of game information produced at the normal closure of a game (see attached graphic) including game time and real time spent overall and by sessions, game message log, summary of 'kills' and damaged platforms and victory conditions met. Report .txt files are named from the battleset name and file number (0 if a custom scenario, scenario number if an embedded battleset scenario) and are replaced when starting a new scenario of same battleset/file number. (pictured report from a auto play game at full time acceleration)

  13. The question seems to come up occassionally about refueling air craft (CAP units in particular) from tankers in formation about a base. I've attached a simple saved game tnk2bse1.hpq (from standard wespac battleset) to illustrate what I do, (I think it's pretty sneaky). the game opens with the CAP patrol out from baseAAa with insuffient fuel to get home. In formation patrol 140 nm away is a tanker AA01. "join" the base and the CAP patrol , 'move' the tanker from the bae to the fighter group and execute the "join". use 'alt' R to commence refuelling and wait for the request to split the tanker then send it home. set the CAP groups speed to send it back to its patrol poi…

HC 2020.006 is seeing refinement of how nuclear weapon effects are distributed in the game. 2020.004 had a quick fix to prevent the game from crashing when a nuclear weapon destroys units from 2+ neighboring groups in just the right order. 2020.006 comes back and makes the nuclear weapon damage application more correct than ever.
