First, a big shout of Thank You to JudgeDredd over on the Matrix Forums. He sent me his copy of TAW at no charge, with all the box and manual and fixins! Today, in partial payback for the Long Island Children's Museum, I dragged the fam over to the Cradle of Aviation Museum at Mitchel Field (an area known as museum row so just a brief walk). Some take-aways: take advantage of the knoweldge and experience of those who have gone before us before they are all gone forever. Given Long Island's history in aviation, and particularly military aviation, the majority of the museum workers are fomer Grumman and Fairchild-Republic retirees. What I did over the weekend was attend the Woodbury Snowmobile Club (http://www.snowraces.com) annual Radar Run. I designed and built the electronics for the 4' x 8' sign in the pictures. It uses a standard 802.11g wireless network to receive the information from a computer program I wrote. The sign itself uses a Rabbit microprocessor module as its brains. Their timing system was broken so most of my time was spent kludging that to work, instead of watching the action and plugging speeds into my sign. Anyway, just a little proof that I love electronics and dislike computers!

Only eleven days to go until Will and Kate get married. This is actually going to do interesting things to the British economy. You see, this Friday is Good Friday, which is a Bank holiday. Monday 25 April is also a Bank Holiday (Easter Monday always is). You've then got another holiday on the day of the wedding itself, followed by the May Day bank holiday on Monday 2 May. Following that, we have local elections in much of the country and a referendum on changing the voting system in all of it on Thursday 5 May, which means a lot of schools will be closed as they're being used as polling stations... What are the views of our non-British posters on this?

The Russian Navy's sail training ship Kruzenshtern is visiting our harbor this week. Haven't found time to get downtown for a closer look or pics, so this will have to do ... I understand that she is one of the larger 'tall ships' still around.

Does anyone here have any experience with Bulldogs Away rules, by David Manley? I purchased, downloaded, and printed them last night. The rules depict Modern Fast Attack Craft actions from 1950-2010, and look very interesting. The author states that the rules "are intended for very quick deadly battles fought between post war Fast Attack Craft and patrol boats". In addition to the small combattants, the rules contain data for the integration of larger ships (FFG-7 for example) helicopters, aircraft, shore targets, and mine warfare. It is designed to play as miniatures on a 8x6 or 6x4 foot table. Thanks
