I have some rules questions ...

 

And tactical type questions ...

 

I'd also like to post some simple AAR, to get feedback on my rule interpretations and let people see what i'm up to.

It sounds like you are at a good place for what you want to do. There is a surprising amount of knowledge here . You can also check out the number of Yahoo groups out there. The Admiralty Trilogy group http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/AdmiraltyTrilogy/ is one where I learn a lot.

Er, thats great then. This is the place i must be after.

 

I am on one of the yahoo sites but traffic is a little slow. I was looking for something more active.

Hmmm, that's interesting ... sometimes I see my posts going up immediately, with zero delay. Why is that?

If it happens while me or Tony are online, I'd say its because we are uber admins. Otherwise, you must be real special.

No problem re the moderator. i just wanted to make sure i wasnt loosing my posts. Im in australia so i might be in a completly different time zone to you guys.

 

Thanks for the massive response to my AAR. I plan to get a response up but need a couple of hours to get some work done first.

i'm still checking in daily while i put my NATO convoy together, then i'll be looking to pit it against a couple of russian subs ...

I've been on admiraltytrilogy at yahoo and had a few good responses. But i hate yahoo as a forum, its just so .... user-unfriendly i think.

 

I got a few replies to questions, but never felt like people were really buying in, just providing the bare minimum necessary. Maybe its because i was new, or asking questions that had been asked many times before, or i dont know. It just didnt feel right.

 

What about here then? Well, i think its a better format. It looks better and when you reply you don get all the >>>>>> stuff in posts like on yahoo! My posts dont come up straight away here either (allow me this small grumble!). Everyone whose answered seems like they care about their responses and being understood, and try to understand someone elses POV which means hte discussions are constructive. And most topics get a response. I hope i'm adding to it all myself as well, either with new threads or answering someone elses questions. So, this is my current log on page!

Not to take anything away from those longstanding mailing lists, but we're certainly glad you like it here!

KC, glad you find this a constructive place to ask questions and contribute. I find that as well. As Brad noted it is not to take away anything from the other resources as they do have many very helpful and knoweldgeable people there. I'll always try and answer your H4 questions, either by referencing the quesion in the rules, recreating the situation, or both. More often than not, others will chime in here as well.

 

When I get stumpted, more often than I'd prefer, I do not hesitate asking harpoon guru's here and elsewhere. I've had much success in that regard.
