  2. Check the engagement envelope of your AAM in the PE. Many older missiles will not engage at Vhi, and/or Vlo. The game WILL let you shoot it, however. Sparrow III is agood example od this.
  3. Thought I'd put my oar in. Here's a few tips. There's nothing about enemy OOB, just tactical management stuff. You may have more fun if you DON'T read this, but it'll help if you are having trouble in the beginning. My next project will be different. Live long and prosper, Cobalt Shiva. BKOUT.txt
  4. I had a similar experience with 'BreakoutUK'. The DF-21 anti-ship ballistic missile is one nasty piece of kit. I have edited both of these, gently, to buy you some time in the beginning.I still have the original versions if you like.

Like "Breakout", but MUCH harder- same opposition, less assets. For brave boys only. DUCK. Difficulty has been reduced, a little.

Future MEDC scenario. Get a CVBG home through a tight spot. Edited to make the first 30 minutes more survivable.

VPC 2007 has been a great solution for me. I use XP SP1 with a clean install, and it's a little cumbersome moving files back and forth. Otherwise, an excellent solution.
  11. Yee hah, Sparrows away!!! I'm going to need those 80NM Phoenix's, I think.
  12. I get the impression that these two S. Africa scenarios are the same, optimized for play against the AI in each case. If so, which one would you consider more challenging?
  13. I won't be able to get to playing this for a week or so, but it looks like BIG FUN. Hope you made us some nice booby traps. Thanks.
  14. Would it be possible to enhance the abilities of the SU-33, to wit: redo the mostly unused "patrol-2" loadout to include the AA-12 R77-M1 longer range AAM? This will make Russian naval adventures much more interesting. THANKS for all your help. Patrick
  15. oops. added mines at last minute. Will fix and resubmit.

This scenario explores the ability of the Spanish and Portugese armed forces to defend the Azores from Russian attack. BLUE only. This is a sequel to "Hold Fast!". There will be a third scenario in this series soon. The good news is that Russian naval power projection is poor. The bad news is that your stuff isn't very good either. Updated to HCDB080824 and repaired a VC bomb 10-19 Thanks Herman!

UK vs Russia in the GIUK in a post-USA world. A companion piece to "Hermes the Thief" This one may be kind of hard. Duck.

A scenario set in the near future, with a different world order- After 30 years, HMS Hermes must retake some islands with her Harriers.

  22. Hey guys I'm going to be doing some scenarios featuring the "blue water" capabilities of the Indian navy for IOPG and WESTPAC- would you consider the following for your next update: 1) A dedicated Indian version of the land based MiG-29 2) Adding a BrahMos loadout (rumored at 1 missile) to the SU-30 3) Revisiting the loadouts for the MiG-29K, to give players more options for the only effective carrier based Indian fighter- possibly some Israeli weapons, such as Derby and SPICE? 4) India has expressed interest in the Dassault Rafale- it would be nice to have this as an option too. 5) The HAL Tejas light combat aircraft 6) Is the SS-N-27 really good for 250 DP? This seems too good to be true. Let me know if I can help with research, or in any other way. I can make the changes myself and upload the new DB for your consideration if that's acceptable. Thanks Patrick
  23. I've got my SE running again and will try to get something out by the end of the month. Thanks for your support
  24. I'm in too, but I have a problem- I reloaded my OS on my older computer (XP Home) and my SE no longer works. I seem to recall that SE does not run under XP. I have downloaded Virtual PC 2007 to my laptop (XP Pro)and will attempt to get a virtual Win 98 setup going, so I can resume making scenarios. I'm not a computer whiz so this may take a while.. Any help or suggestions are welcome, including an existing virtual machine that I could use. Once I'm up and running again I can provide a scenario every month or so. Sorry to not be more prolific. Patrick
  25. Hi Mark The trick is to make your aircraft very superior to its competitors in a relative sense- for example, use an SU-35 vs early MiG 29s, Mig 23's, 21's and such. Add an intermediate base and a tanker, and make management and defense of the tanker an additional challenge. Also the land/rearm at that base issue, will you get bounced on the ground? Set up a situation where the pilot of your plane has to make important decisions about whether to fight or run in a given situation, and set some traps to let the IA take advantage of a bad decision. The key is to be the bad guy when designing, we'll take care of the other side. Hope this helps. Sounds like fun.
